April sees a return visit to Beach Road of Rev Chris Pritchard who was minister at Hartford Methodist Church from 2012 to 2022. During that time he was not only minister in Hartford but also Superintendent Minister for the Circuit.

He will be here to lead the worship on Sunday 26 April which is Earth Sunday when with the children we think about our heritage of caring for this earth over which we have husbandry. The morning service starts as usual at 10.30.

New environment initiative. As previously mentioned, Northwich has a lot of river water - the town centre almost surrounded. Nationally, Wye Valley and Windermere, highlighted by Tim Farron, are a scandalous condemnation of our care for the countryside. The volunteer testing scheme launched Saturday at Grozone, Northwich.

Deacon Shirley's Lent Environmental Challenge : Use of Energy

The electricity, oil and gas our homes use mostly come from fossil fuel. There is not a realistic alternative for some of us, but we can be aware of the energy we use and adjust our lifestyle so we use less fossil fuels. Some energy companies do offer energy from renewable resources while some use partially renewable sources.
Actions
Choose two or three of these:
Keep your windows and doors closed
Only fill up the kettle with the amount of water that you require
Hang your clothes to dry instead of using the dryer
Turn your central heating down and wear warmer clothes and layers
Only heat the room you are using
Use eco light bulbs
Invest in rechargeable batteries
Don’t leave appliances stand-by
Turn off garden features and outside lights or install PIR detectors
Avoid cooking in a conventional oven improve your house insulation
Reduce the amount of hot water you use
Switch energy providers to ones that use renewable energy sources
Give up using your TV and computers
Go to bed at sunset and get up at dawn
Research and Campaigning
Lent Environmental Challenge. Use of Energy

Choose one of these:
Consider installing a solar PV (electric) or solar water system
Research the use of energy in the manufacture of goods you buy, and the amount of energy used in transporting them
Look into replacing existing appliances with energy efficient ones
Write to your local MP about streetlight pollution

About Our CHurch

The “People Called Methodists” have met in Hartford for 200 years, originally in homes and since 1833 in what is now our Church Hall on the Weaverham side of the Bradburns Lane/Beach Road junction. As the congregation grew a new building was erected actually on the junction. If you want to find Hartford Methodist Church by Satnav, our postcode is CW8 3AD this take you the car park

Hartford Methodist Church has a warm fellowship centred around our Sunday morning worship at 10.30am when we all come together for a quarter of an hour or so before the young people leave for their own activities in Junior Church. The congregational singing is supported by our choir who also sing choral items for special services. Worship is largely in the traditional Methodist form but sometimes can be of a more contemporary nature.

Our minister is ready to talk to you about any concerns you may have. He would be delighted to talk to you about having a wedding or baptism in the Church. Please see do email us or send us a message. We are also able to conduct funerals and it is usual to make arrangements for these via a Funeral Director.

The Church groups that meet regularly throughout the year are open to all with a number joining us who may not worship with us on Sunday. These are as diverse as the Ladies Fellowship and the weekly Table Tennis evening
