The Town of Grimsby takes its name from the legend of Grim and Havelock, according to the legend, Grim the Fisherman, is paid to drown the Danish Prince Havelock at sea, but instead rescues him by sailing away from Denmark and landing on the east coast of England, where he forms a settlement known as Grimsby, (Grim's town). The name Grim means mask and Grim and Grimnir (masked one) are two of the names adopted by Odin when travelling in disguise among mortals.
