One of the kindest most considerate and thoughtful people I have ever had the privilege to volunteer with as a Street Pastor at The Royal Welsh Show. Miss you.
Love 'n' prayers to his family, friends and the wider community.
Rest in peace, Andrew, and rise in glory. Xx

PRESS RELEASE: The family of Andrew Rogers aged 61 from Hayscastle, wish to pay tribute to the beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and uncle, who sadly passed away in hospital on Thursday 1 January 2026, following a road traffic collision on the A48 near Llanddarog on Monday 29 December, 2025.

The family said: “Andrew was volunteering as blood bike rider at the time, something he was deeply passionate about. Helping people and volunteering as street pastor for many years, Andrew had a strong Christian faith, with his life guided by his Lord Jesus.

“Andrew was a farmer his whole life and it was his passion. He was well known, loved, and respected within the farming community and extremely knowledgeable. Knowledge he passed down to his children and grandchildren over the years.

“Andrew will be remembered by his wife Tricia, daughter Julie, son and his partner Nathan and Penny, Mum Hilda, brother and sister-in-law Colin and Myra, grandchildren Cerys, Iwan, and Myfanwy, nieces and nephews Megan, Kiki, and Dominic, and the wider family and friends.”

The family now ask for privacy during this difficult time.

Officers continue to appeal for anyone who was travelling westbound on the A48 near Llanddarog just before 6pm on Monday 29 December, to get in touch:

What a brilliant night we had out in the town last Friday. Everyone happy, and really enjoying themselves. So many lively comments too from the punters, the door staff and the police too.
Gave out a few pairs of fllip-flops for the tired and weary feet and a few bottles of water.
So wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed Christmas and New Year...and remember to be kind to others and yourselves
Merry Christmas everyone.
See you 2026.

Brilliant night out last Saturday with the magnificent Dream Team. The weather wasn't too good, which probably kept some people away from the town centre.
A calm and peaceful evening, but loads of good conversations.
