Unbelievable! After having had the drainage plans for Harrison Way for six months and without passing comment, a meeting with the planners today has resulted in us being asked to re draw the drainage system!! More cost, more delay and less money to spend on football. To protect the houses near the stream from flooding(they already flood!), we were asked a few weeks ago to build a bund, which is basically, raised ground, so as to protect these houses. Now we've been told that the bund is too high and if anyone stands on top of the bund they can see into the gardens! Correct me if I am wrong but these houses don't have high fences offering privacy now anyway. So a lower bund means more drainage as the 'tidal wave' of rainwater may go over the top of the bund! Ime sorry and I understand the systems, but 'over the top' comes to mind. Red tape but we will carry on as EAJFC want to provide recreational facilities in the town regardless and we will succeed. Four major projects were undertaken to get where we are today, with Cory Landfill Trust, Sport England, The FA and the Council. £228,500 has come from three of these bodies. Guess which body is the most difficult to deal with.
