START THE MONTH
“I lift my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121.1.

In May’s Start the Month, Bishop Paul and Sarah open up Psalm 121, a prayer that reminds us of the confidence we have in the Lord whatever our circumstances. They encourage us to turn our focus to God each new day as he is our helper who watches over us for all of our lives.

As we each continue to seek to grow and learn how to turn our attention to God each day, Bishop Paul and Sarah commend a new book by Tyler Staton called ‘After Amen’ - a devotional aiming to draw us deeper into God’s truth and beauty.

VOTE ON TIME-LIMITS FOR CHURCHWARDENS
In a special meeting yesterday (Sunday 12 April), there was a unanimous vote by those attending to waive the rule that limits churchwardens to 6 consecutive terms (years) in office. So parishes can now begin recruitment for election of churchwardens. The forms are on the Parish Resources website (parishresources.org.uk/the-pcc-as-a-charity/apcms-and-electoral-roll/ ).

Forms for nomination of churchwardens are also in Church, along with forms for election to PCCs, and elections to the Deanery Synod. They're on the table at the back of the pews. There's an envelope to put completed forms in. Forms must be completed and handed to the PCC Secretary before the annual meeting of the PCC (Annual Parochial Church Meeting, or APCM for short) on Monday 20 April in the Church Room at 7.00pm.
