This year we are really excited to announce that the The Madonna Del Rosario Procession will return to its original route passing Piccadilly Gardens in the heart of Manchester.

The route:
At 1.15pm the procession will leave George Leigh Street in Ancoats.
It will then turn LEFT onto Great Ancoats Street and the immediate RIGHT onto Newton Street. At the traffic light the procession will then join Portland Street passing Piccadilly Gardens on the RIGHT.

The procession will continue down Portland Street, turning RIGHT at Oxford Street making its way to St Peter's Square for approx 2.10pm.

The Return Route:
At approx 2.40pm the procession will leave St Peter's Square turning RIGHT onto Princess Street until it reaches Portland Street where it turns LEFT once again passing Piccadilly Gardens.
At the traffic lights the procession will turn LEFT onto Newton Street.
The procession will then turn LEFT onto Great Ancoats Street leading back to George Leigh Street for approx 3.25pm

As the tenure of the Lord Mayor of Manchester comes to an end, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Councillor Carmine Grimshaw for his support, friendship and service to our great city over the years.

Having served Manchester as a councillor for 14 years, Carmine has always shown a genuine commitment to the city of Manchester. His rooted ties with the Italian community have been especially appreciated and it has always meant a great deal to warmly welcome him to our events as part of his civic duties.

We hope he has thoroughly enjoyed his year as Lord Mayor.

We thank him once again for his support and wish him every success and happiness as he moves on to pastures new.
