My Bio. My name is
Sunday Onabanjo, and I am standing as a candidate for Middleton South. I bring more than 30 years of experience working in local government and social housing across the UK, where my work has focused on supporting communities and ensuring safe, well maintained homes for residents.
I serve as both a building surveyor and a minister of religion with the Celestial Church of Christ, Middleton. Service has shaped every part of my life both professionally and spiritually.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I became deeply involved in food networking and distribution in Rochdale, helping vulnerable households at a time of great need. That commitment continues today through the food bank I run on Sadler's Street in Middleton, which provides essential support to families across our community. I help to facilitate cultural nutritional food networks among Black Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities in Rochdale especially in Middleton as a Trustee to Food Network Steering Group. I am the
Lead Facilitator for Domestic Abuse Alliance in Middleton hosted by CCCHOP Charity.
I am a husband, a father of 3 sons, and a grandfather to seven grandchildren. 2 on my sons graduated here in Manchester. I have been a minister of religion serving in the Celestial Church of Christ, Middleton, for the last 14 years.
My dedication to community care, fairness, and practical support guides everything I do, and it is the foundation of my commitment to the people of Middleton South.
