A very special baptism at St Michael’s.

Congratulations to one of our long-standing parish families on the christening of their beautiful baby girl and granddaughter. It was such a joy to celebrate this special day with you and to welcome the newest member of our church family.

There is something particularly special about witnessing a baptism. While we gather to welcome a child into the Christian faith, it is also an opportunity for all of us to reflect on and renew our own faith and the promises at the heart of our Christian life.

We feel incredibly privileged at St Michael’s to share these important moments with the families who have been part of our parish community for generations and over the years.

May God bless this little girl and her family as she begins her journey of faith. ✨

AFTERNOON TEA WITH A PURPOSE | ACTION FOR BPAN

Yesterday, St Michael’s was delighted to host a wonderful Afternoon Tea & Cake fundraiser in support of Action for BPAN – bringing our community together over tea, cake and conversation for an incredibly important cause.

We had the privilege of meeting Kelly Sayers, co-founder of Action for BPAN, a UK charity founded by Kelly and fellow mum Nicole Harper after their daughters, Emily and Isabella, were diagnosed with BPAN (Beta-Propeller Protein-Associated Neurodegeneration).

BPAN is an extremely rare, progressive neurological condition. It is estimated to affect fewer than 50 families in the UK, and there is currently no cure.

But there is hope. 💙

Action for BPAN is helping to fund pioneering gene-therapy research at Great Ormond Street Hospital, with a fundraising goal of around £2.3 million to help take this vital research to its next stage.

It was incredibly moving to hear Kelly’s story and to learn about the determination of these families to turn an unimaginably difficult diagnosis into action, awareness and hope for their children and others affected by BPAN.

We are very proud that St Michael’s, Bray could play a small part in supporting this important cause and helping more people learn about BPAN.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, baked, donated, volunteered and helped make the afternoon such a lovely one.

Sometimes a cup of tea and a slice of cake can help start a much bigger conversation.

What a wonderful afternoon in Bray! 🎶

Our Tea & Cake afternoon at St Michael’s Church Hall was a resounding success, and what a fantastic time we had!

There was cake (lots of it! 🍰), tea, laughter, music and a wonderful sense of community, all while raising money for the incredible Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.

A huge thank you to the brilliant Devine Buskers band, who brought such energy to the afternoon and had us thoroughly entertained. And a very special thank you to the Alexander Devine volunteers, everyone who helped organise the day, baked and served cakes, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets and, of course, everyone who came along to support us.

It was wonderful to see St Michael’s Church Hall filled with so many smiling faces and people coming together for such an important cause.

Great music. Great cake. Great company. And all for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success — we couldn’t have done it without you!

Hidden Treasures of St. Michael’s Church, Bray.
Stained Glass Windows

One of the greatest treasures of St Michael’s Church, Bray is its remarkable collection of stained glass windows, some dating back to the 1850s, with others dedicated in 1871 and 1884.

Each window has its own story to tell. Some are beautiful memorial windows, created in memory of loved ones, while others illustrate key moments in the life of Jesus—from His ministry and miracles to the Easter story of His death, resurrection and the promise of eternal life.

Look closely and you’ll discover an extraordinary world of vibrant colour, intricate craftsmanship and powerful symbolism. Long before most people could read, stained glass was often called “the Bible in pictures”, helping to share the Christian faith through images.
