AN AFTERNOON OF BEAUTIFUL MUSIC AT ST MICHAEL’S, BRAY!

What a wonderful afternoon we enjoyed on Sunday at St Michael’s Church for another of our much-loved Music at Bray recitals!

We were treated to an absolutely breathtaking performance by the exceptionally talented young pianist and composer Ashley Solano Hernández.

Ashley captivated us with his extraordinary skill, sensitivity and passion for music, performing beautiful works by Haydn and Ravel before serenading us with his very own composition, Sonata No. 3 – Destination: Unknown.

To hear such a gifted young musician perform his own original work was truly special. His fingers danced effortlessly across the keys, filling our beautiful historic church with the most glorious music. What an incredible talent and such a privilege to experience his artistry up close!

Following the recital, everyone was invited to enjoy tea, cake and conversation — a lovely opportunity to come together as a community.

A huge thank you to Ashley for sharing his remarkable talent with us and to everyone who came along to support the afternoon.

Our Music at Bray recitals are free to attend, with a retiring collection to help support the upkeep, restoration and preservation of our much-loved church and its historic building. Every donation, however small, makes a difference.

Join us for a wonderful evening of music as Friends of St Michael’s, Bray present The Musical Artistry of Kenny Martyn — a concert celebrating the great clarinet jazz giant.

Set within the beautiful surroundings of St Michael’s Church, Kenny Martyn will bring the unmistakable sound and spirit of classic jazz to Bray for what promises to be a very special evening. 🎷✨

🐾 Our Pet Service is back! 🐾

Following the wonderful success of our first and second ever Pet Services, we’re delighted to be holding our 3rd special service for our four-legged, feathered and furry friends at St Michael’s.

Admittedly, our pet services are a little noisier than the average Sunday service — as you might imagine! — but it is always an absolute joy to see so many much-loved pets (and their humans!) filling the church.

Join us on Sunday 04/10 at 14:30 as we give thanks for the animals who bring so much companionship, happiness and love into our lives, with an opportunity for your pet to receive a special blessing.

All creatures great and small are very welcome.
Bring your pets — and perhaps expect the occasional bark, meow or chirp during the service! 🐾

🎶 Hymns with PIMM’S at St Michael’s, Bray 🍹

What a wonderful afternoon we had at Hymns with PIMM’S!

With beautiful music from the organ and piano, a fantastic turnout, and the church filled with voices, we truly lifted our voices to the heavens.

And perhaps the best reward for all that glorious singing? A refreshing glass of PIMM’S afterwards! Everyone was in such good spirits, chatting, laughing and enjoying being together.

Beautiful music, favourite hymns, PIMM’S and wonderful company — such a happy way to spend a Sunday at St Michael’s.

Even better, all proceeds from the afternoon went towards raising much-needed funds for St Michael’s, helping to support and care for our beautiful church.

Thank you to everyone who came along, sang so enthusiastically and helped make it such a special afternoon.

Music at Bray, St Michael’s 🎶

Yesterday afternoon we were treated to the most wonderful piano recital at St Michael’s Church as part of Music at Bray.

The incredibly talented Simone Alessandro Tavoni gave us a beautiful programme of Mozart, Satie and de Falla — and it really was quite magical. There is something very special about hearing classical music performed live, and how lucky we are to have recitals of this quality right here on our doorstep in Bray.

St Michael’s is also the perfect setting. The beauty and history of the church, together with its wonderful acoustics, make it such a lovely place to sit for an afternoon and simply enjoy the music.

And there is plenty more to come! Sunday afternoon recitals begin at 3pm, with the forthcoming programme including:

•11 October – Ashley Solano Hernández (piano)
•8 November – Peng Lin (piano)
•13 December – Community Carols

Entry is free, with a retiring collection and refreshments, so do come along, bring a friend and enjoy some beautiful music in the heart of our community.
