Less than a week left to nominate someone for our National Awards!

We’ve received many wonderful nominations recognising our adult volunteers, but we’d love to see more of our brilliant young people nominated too.

Do you know a young person who has made a real impact within Girls’ Brigade or their community? Perhaps they’ve shown exceptional commitment, supported others, overcome a challenge or made a difference in their own unique way. Help us celebrate their achievements by submitting a nomination!

Can you spare 45 minutes/ an hour on a Thursday evening in Loughborough?
1st Loughborough Girls’ Brigade has been supporting local young people at Trinity
Methodist Church (Royland Road) for generations. To keep us running on Thursday evening, we are looking for residents to join our support rota.
We aren’t asking for session planning, just friendly adults to help check members in at
the door, serve refreshments, or monitor craft tables once or twice a month. Short-term
placements up to October Half-Term or Christmas are available! Longer would be AMAZING.

Hi everyone. I hope you’ve all enjoyed the summer holidays. Just a little update on our return after summer.

We’re really sorry to say that we won’t be returning just yet due to couple of unforeseen paperwork issues.

All being well 🙏, we will return on either Thursday 10th or Thursday 17th September at our usual time of 6:30- 7:45pm

Girls’ Brigade reopens on Thursday 3rd September at the usual time of 6:30- 7:45pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Loughborough.

⭐️However ⭐️ this is where you 🫵 come in. We NEED another Leader/ helper AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Are you friendly? Approachable? Reliable? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ and you spare a couple of hours a week then why not come and join us?

Becoming a Leader/ helper with Girls’ Brigade is rewarding, looks great on your CV, and there’s also other opportunities within The Girls' Brigade England & Wales such as roles at district level, the chance to go to the international conference and lots more.

*A full DBS is needed and is FREE for all volunteers*

Wow! 🤩 what a year we’ve had at GB. We’ve done alot! We’ve done lots of crafts, explored our NEW badge work, been to Build- a- Bear, we’ve had our own ‘ LUSH’ experience, we’ve been canoeing 🛶, been to the park, baking and lots more!

All being well we intend to return on Thursday 3rd September at our usual time of 6:30- 7:45pm at Trinity Methodist Church.
However, this is where you- our Parents, Carers, and the wider GB & Loughborough communities come in. WE NEED Leaders &/ or helpers to join us ASAP.

What does it take to be a GB Leader/ Helper I hear you say? Well- if you are 18 or over and know how to have a laugh and you’re good with children then we would love to hear from you.
You’ll need a DBS (free for volunteers or can use a recent 1), to complete our online Safeguarding training & go through a couple of other things.
