Good morning ☀️ on the Fourth Sunday of Easter - traditionally known as ‘Shepherd Sunday (or sometimes ‘Vocations Sunday’)
today we have a joint Benefice service with our sister church at St.John's Church, Sidcup

The Gospel reading for this Sunday always focuses on Jesus as the ‘Good Shepherd’ in some form or other and Mark Stephen will explore what this means as he preaches for us all at 10am.

Everyone is always welcome!

Risen Christ,
faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:
teach us to hear your voice
and to follow your command,
that all your people may be gathered into one flock,
to the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on the Third Sunday of Easter.

Today we are delighted to welcome the Ven Dr Paul Wright to preside and preach at our main 10am parish Eucharist at All Saints.

Our Gospel reading tells us how on the first Easter Sunday Jesus appears to just two disciples - who are walking away and who don’t initially recognise him…

Everyone is welcome to all our services!

Almighty Father,
who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples
with the sight of the risen Lord:
give us such knowledge of his presence with us,
that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life
and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on the Second Sunday of Easter

Throughout the Easter season we celebrate the resurrection and consider what it means. In our readings today we hear the disciples reacted when they saw Jesus - and how hard it was to believe. - and what Peter, when he gets confidence, has to say about the difference it makes.

Our service is at 10am - everyone is welcome!

Risen Christ,
for whom no door is locked, no entrance barred:
open the doors of our hearts,
that we may seek the good of others
and walk the joyful road of sacrifice and peace,
to the praise of God the Father.
Amen.

We rejoice in the day of resurrection ☀️🕯️ 🐣

Our Easter Eucharist starts a little earlier than usual at 9.45 with the lighting of the new Easter fire - everyone is welcome!

God of glory,
by the raising of your Son
you have broken the chains of death and hell:
fill your Church with faith and hope;
for a new day has dawned
and the way to life stands open
in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen

Good morning on Palm Sunday🌴🫏 ✝️

Today we follow Jesus into Jerusalem with cheering crowds waving palm branches - the start of a momentous week - Holy Week - a journey that 5 days later culminates in Jesus’ arrest, death on the cross and then… something truly extraordinary
(but that’s to skip ahead to next Sunday…)

We start our Holy Week journey with the Palm Sunday procession and Eucharist this morning at 9.45am

Everyone always welcome!

True and humble king,
hailed by the crowd as messiah:
Grant us faith to know you and to love you,
That we may be found beside you
On the way of the cross,
Which is the path of glory.
Amen.

Holy Week starts tomorrow with our Palm Sunday service…Why not come and join us for one or more this Easter - All are we...

Good morning ☀️ on Passion Sunday ✝️

We are coming close now to Palm Sunday and Holy Week - to the Cross and to Resurrection
Our readings today presage that story. From the Old Testament we hear a prophets vision of dry bones returning to life - and in John’s Gospel Jesus learns of the death of his friend Lazarus…
Our main Parish Eucharist service is at 10am with our Vicar, Canon Cathy, as our president and preacher.

Everyone is welcome at all our services.

Most merciful God,
who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ
delivered and saved the world:
grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross
we may triumph in the power of his victory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on Mothering Sunday.
🌼 💐 🌼

A day for celebrating those we love, Mother’s Day can also be a day of deep and conflicting emotions and this is reflected in our Bible Reading this morning.

Despite all its risks, it is love that is the core of all things - and in celebration of love we give flowers.

Our service is at 10am and everyone is welcome 🌼

God of compassion,
whose Son Jesus Christ, the child of Mary,
shared the life of a home in Nazareth,
and on the cross drew the whole human family to himself:
strengthen us in our daily living
that in joy and in sorrow
we may know the power of your presence
to bind together and to heal; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on the third Sunday of Lent 🕯️and today in our Gospel reading we hear about the very first evangelist - a woman outcast from her society meets Jesus and her life changes…

Our main Parish Eucharist is at 10am
Everyone is always welcome!

Almighty God,
whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain,
and entered not into glory before he was crucified:
mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross,
may find it none other than the way of life and peace;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on the second Sunday of Lent 🕯️

Today in our Gospel reading we hear one of the most famous sayings of Jesus - as he try’s to explain to a confused Pharisee who he is and what he’s doing in God’s name…

Our main Parish Eucharist is at 10am and everyone is always welcome.

Almighty God,
you show to those who are in error the light of your truth,
that they may return to the way of righteousness:
grant to all those who are admitted
into the fellowship of Christ’s religion,
that they may reject those things
that are contrary to their profession,
and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same;
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.

Good morning ☀️ on the first Sunday of Lent 🕯️

Today we find Jesus out in the wilderness for 40 days and nights - something we try and reflect in our Lenten journey.

We are delighted that today Rev’d Stephanie is preaching at our main 10am service
Everyone welcome!

Almighty God,
whose Son Jesus Christ fasted forty days in the wilderness,
and was tempted as we are, yet without sin:
give us grace to discipline ourselves in obedience to your Spirit;
and, as you know our weakness,
so may we know your power to save;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
