In 1985 Vera joined a Davidic Dance Group in New York called Dancers of the New Jerusalem. The group travelled all over the US dancing at celebrations, conferences and International folk festivals. During this time dance was being re introduced to the 'worship' in services. In 1989 Vera and her family moved to the UK, where she met Helen the wife her osteopath. The dance group grew, to include men
, women and children.The group is usually between 12 - 20 members. Some of the members have been in physically impaired and include trained and non trained dancers. They started dancing and rehearsing together to spread the joy of dance worship to the rest of the country and eventually to Europe and the rest of the world. The New Jerusalem Dancers had their first UK presentation in 1991 and were the first group in the UK to re introduce worship dance into services. As Vera Chierico is a classically trained dancer (RAD) and qualified fitness instructor she was able to teach, safely, how to enjoy dance worship in all situations. The New Jerusalem Dancers have offpring of over 100 dance groups all around the world. The choreography is based on *How king David would have danced as the ark entered Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 6:14 "And David danced before the Lord with all his might and was wearing priests’ clothing" Giving it the name *Davidic dance. Other choregraphy has been inspired by Yemenite, Chassidic, Israeli and Klezmer traditional dances, with most recent choreography including fusion with Salsa, African and Asian styles from the teaching Vera has done in those countries. The New Jerusalem Dancers have been presenting performance dances and teaching workshops since 1991, and carry on doing so now. There is also a sales table where items are sold such as Tzittzit, Tallit, CD's and Teaching DVD's. Vera and the New Jersalem Dancers also teach Davidic dance's with tambourine's and flags.
