Love Yourself - God does.
Know that you are Special, Unique, and Different.

There are no two people in the world who are the same. Not even twins!

God made you, Specially. You are Unique and Different on purpose. Celebrate that! You can only be truly fulfilled in life when you know and Accept your identity, without Apologies!

No matter how good you are in copying someone else or trying to become like someone else, you will only become a copy, when you succeed - never the original. Invest that effort into yourself, and be an excellent Original.

This is a Reminder to love yourself because God loves you and you are Special in His eyes:

*Isaiah 43:4:
"Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life."

*Psalm 139:13-14:
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."

*Jeremiah 31:3:
"The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.'"

*1 Peter 2:9:
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;"

*Ephesians 2:10:
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

*Zephaniah 3:17:
"The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

*Romans 5:8:
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

This is the ultimate demonstration of God's profound love for you, given freely

Knowing how deeply God loves and values you can empower you to see yourself through His eyes and treat yourself with that same love and respect.

May God grant you wisdom.

THE GREATEST SERVANT

If we’re honest, most of us would rather be served than serve others. We’d rather feel special than ordinary. We’d rather feel important than insignificant.

And though God has made us special, important, and created in His image—His children cannot be above serving, because Jesus was never above serving.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If the King of kings and Lord of lords didn’t come to be served, but to sacrifice His life for the sake and salvation of others, we should pay attention.

Jesus warned against doing impressive things just to be seen, praying extravagant prayers merely to be heard, and taking the highest-ranking positions simply to be known. (See: Matthew 6 and 20.)

Instead, Jesus engaged the outcast, fed the hungry, healed the sick, helped the hurting, stopped for the broken, washed dirty feet, and laid down His life—even though He was innocent—so that even the “worst” of sinners could discover that they are never far from His love.

As you think about what it meant for Jesus to die in your place and erase your mistakes, what does it trigger inside of you? Worship? Gratefulness? Are you compelled to go and tell others?

Today, ask God to show you how you can serve others like He has served you.

Are we intimate with the Holy Spirit? Do we seek His counsel before making Covenants and Decisions? The consequences may be severe?

Joshua asked: why have you deceived us?

QUESTION:
Joshua, why did you not seek God's counsel before making the alliance with them?

We have the Holy Spirit as our Counsellor. - John 14:16.

"Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they DID NOT ASK COUNSEL of the Lord. So Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them to let them live; and the rulers of the congregation swore to them. And it happened at the end of three days, after they had made a covenant with them, that they heard that they were their neighbors who dwelt near them." (Emphasis mine). - Joshua 9:14‭-‬16 NKJV.

LESSON:
Ask for advice before signing agreements and making decisions.

Not all that glitter is gold. The counsel of the Holy Spirit is worth more than gold!

James 1:5 invites ALL who lack wisdom to ask God for wisdom, and He gives it generously without finding fault.

Blessings.

Do not focus on the negative mountain. Focus on your God, and let the mountain realise it is insignificant.

In whatever situation you are in, rather than being downcast, lift up your heart and eyes to the Lord, from where your help will come!

Having been publicly beaten and thrown into the inner prison, and chained, Paul and Silas choose to worship and praise God!

Who does that? The wise and faithful!

They may not have been praising God for what had befallen them. They must have been praising Him for Who He is and what He can do.

God inhabits the praises of His people. Pure Praise, or praises from a pure heart, is an Invitation to God.

God honours true invitations.

Lesson:
1. When we praise God from a pure heart, He will show up.

2. When God shows up, things take a positive turn - tears turn into joy, ashes turn into beauty, graves turn into garden, stumbling blocks turn into stepping stones, obstacles turn into opportunities, foes turn into fans, setbacks turn into set-ups, handcuffs turn into wristwatches, rejections turn into promotions, and darkness turns into light!

Do not be distracted by what you are going through. Instead, focus on the God of breakthroughs. Like the same Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:4, rejoice in the Lord, always!

I choose to rejoice in the LORD, Always! 🙏🏽

Be blessed, as you do too.
May your night 🌃 turn into day, as you praise Him.

Life by the Spirit

The Holy Spirit has no experience with being impatient, hateful, or rude. That’s the language of our flesh. The Fruit will be the byproduct of a life surrendered to the Spirit of God. But we are not called to focus on the Fruit; we are called to focus on God’s Spirit.

Simple enough, right?

Too often, we don’t see growth in ourselves and actually say things like, “I’m just an impatient person,” or, “I just can’t get along with certain people.” No, the truth of the matter is that when we have that mindset, we’re just choosing to walk in the flesh. In our human existence, we are the opposite of the Fruit of the Spirit.

Seeking God and asking Him to help us grow in exhibiting His Fruit will challenge us because we are choosing to deny our flesh and feed our spirit instead. We will start being placed in situations that allow the Holy Spirit to develop His Fruit within us. According to Pastor Rick Warren, “Every problem is a character-building opportunity.” It is no joke to withhold from our flesh what it wants. Because…

Our flesh wants to get even, but the Spirit calls us to love and extend kindness.
Our flesh wants to entertain sinful thoughts, but the Spirit calls us to walk in self-control.
Our flesh wants to dictate with moodiness, but the Spirit calls us to walk in joy and peace.

What if, going forward, we truly lived out Romans 13:14 (But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ and forget about satisfying your sinful self.(NCV)) that tells us to clothe ourselves with Jesus and to not even think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh? Every day we put on Jesus, obey the Spirit’s leading and basically ignore our flesh. It’s all about where we look and what we look to for satisfaction.

As we give the Spirit more control of our lives, He begins to do in and through us what only He can do—to shape us and grow us to look like Jesus. We are literally being transformed and when we do, we can see our own growth as we go through life following Jesus.

Instead of avoiding change, our prayer should be, “God, do in me whatever You need to do so that I will exhibit Your Fruit.” We must quit running from growth and thinking we can’t change. We can change because we have the power of the Holy Spirit propelling us toward it. The Fruit of the Spirit becomes part of us when we walk in obedience to the Spirit.

Reflect:
°Do you tend to make excuses for the character traits in your life that are hard to achieve, or do you work hard to overcome those deficiencies?

°Think of one excuse about yourself that you just keep using and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to grow in this area.

OVERFLOW OF GOD'S WORD.

Know what the Word is and allow the Holy Spirit to work the word through you, and affect other people. This is the overflow.

We must get this to sync with our spirit - God blesses us to be a blessing to others, overflow.

SOME THINGS THE WORD OF GOD IS AND DOES:
1. The Word restores life to the dead. Ezekiel 37:1-10.
2. The Word of God is powerful and effective (more than any two-edged sword). Hebrews 4:12.
3. The Word is spirit and life. It is alive and moves, not ordinary or dead. The words live, therefore they give life and can create what was not there (let there be light). John 6:63.
4. The entrance of the Word illuminates. The word brings light and understanding, even to the simple or unwise. Psalm 119:130.
5. The Word produces miracles. Makes impossibilities possible
1. Elizabeth "that was called barren", is now 6 months pregnant, said Angel Gabriel to Mary in Luke 1:36!
2. "Nevertheless, at Thy word", said Peter in Luke 5:5.
6. The Word provides. Matthew 17:27.
7. The Word aids prevention of sin. Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against You. Psalm 119:9-16.
8. The Word Protects. Isaiah 41:10 - 13.
9. The Word is a spiritual sword! Ephesians 6:17. Sword of the Spirit for victories.
10. The Word directs. It shows us the path to follow. Psalm 119:105.
11. The Word of God gives comfort. Psalm 119:50.
12. The Word heals and delivers. Psalm 107:20
13. The Word is profitable 2 Timothy 3:16 (see Amplified):
1. To teach us what is true
2. To make us realize the errors of our ways.
3. To correct us when we are wrong, and restore us.
4. To teach us to do what is right.
14. The Word sanctifies (purity, consecrate (make holy) and set apart for God) . John 17:17.

These are only a few of the things the word of God does for us. It does a lot more. However, if the above alone are all that it does, I believe it is more than we need to (1) enjoy life on earth, (2) pour into the lives of others and (3) be found worthy to enter the eternal rest prepared for us. These alone should encourage any sane person to want the Word of God and live by them.

If you want it, then I have good news for you. You can have it, for free, as it's already paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ!

WARNING:
I must make you aware, though, that the authority to use the power in the Word is given only to Believers. Mark 9:23.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE WORD OF GOD.
It is easy to get the word.
1. Simply, get your bible (or, ask me or any Christian for a free copy) and read it daily. You don't even have to be a believer to start reading it. Just read it - but, read it with an open mind!
2. Believe the Word.
3. Use the Word, confidently.
The Holy Spirit will do the rest.

Will you do that - to enjoy all the above benefits? May the Holy Spirit guide you, as you do!

LIFE BEYOND THE GRAVE
Psalm 49:1-20

There is a stark contrast between life without God, and life with God.

1. LIFE WITHOUT GOD
Those who live without God tend to end up trusting in either wealth (v.6a) or themselves (v.13a). This trust is characterised by a search for status. The wealthy may ‘boast of their great riches’ (v.6b) and use money to impress others with their possessions (v.16). They may even name lands after themselves (v.11a).

They enjoy the praise of others (v.18b) and they count ‘themselves blessed’ (v.18a). They may try to use their wealth to ‘buy off’ their own death (v.7). Yet no amount of money is ever enough (v.8). In the end, it is all futile as wealth gets left to others (v.10b). ‘So don’t be impressed with those who get rich and pile up fame and fortune. They can’t take it with them’ (vv.16–17a, MSG). What is this all worth if we ‘decay in the grave?’ (v.14).

2. LIFE WITH GOD
By contrast, if you live a life with God there is no need to search for status. This is because your status is determined not by your success in accumulating wealth, but in knowing to whom you belong and how precious you are to Him.

Your ransom has been paid (v.7b) and you have been redeemed –your future is secure: ‘But me? God sn**ches me from the clutch of death, He reaches down and grabs me’ (v.15, MSG).

A life with God means you will ‘live on for ever and not see decay’ (v.9). The Psalmist says, ‘Why should I fear?’ (v.5). Fear is a natural human emotion. But, with God you can face your fears with confidence because you are able to have complete trust in God for this life and the life to come.

Here is one of the few hints in the Old Testament of life after death. The writer is confident that ‘God will redeem my life from the grave; He will surely take me to Himself’ (v.15). Life with God does not end with death but continues on into eternity. The Psalmist was confident in this, even though he did not know how it was possible. The answer is revealed through Jesus’ resurrection.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the power of Your resurrection, which now lives in me. Thank You that You will sn**ch me from the clutch of death and take me to Yourself.

Even The Sparrows.

“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” Matthew‬ ‭6:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Father even takes care of the fowls of the air. The birds are not familiar with the principle of sowing and reaping, but God takes care of them all.

Focus on God. Choose to worship God and He’ll take care of the rest. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are uniquely and intricately made in His image. You are much more valuable to God than the fowls of the air. He will take care of you.

Even the sparrows are fed by His Hand — you are His child, He will lead you and feed you continually. He has an endless supply. In fact, He will open up the windows of Heaven that you will not have enough room to receive. He will open up spiritual revelation and natural resources to you. His capacity is endless.

Your spiritual and natural storehouse cannot contain what God has the ability to pour into you. David declared in Psalm 23, “My cup overflows.” When you submit to God, who you cannot see, He overflows your cup with favor, insight, wisdom, anointing and natural resources. Put your trust in God. He holds your future in His Hands. He holds eternity in His hands. He is the God who you cannot see but He sees, cares for, and Loves you tremendously.

Audi Alteram Partem.

Audi alteram partem means "hear the other side", in Latin. These were some of the 'strange' languages or words we had to learn as Law undergraduates in Nigeria, about two decades ago.

Not many of us knew then, that this sound and fundamental principle, like many other legal principles, was already written in the Bible, long before many codified legal systems in the world.

Proverbs 18:17 (ESV) says "The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him."

As a person, have you judged someone in their absence, without hearing their side of the events? Have you passed a judgement on another person, solely on the basis of what somebody told you, without hearing from the 'accused'? Have you decided that someone is wrong or guilty, because of what you heard about the person, even when you have not heard the person's version of the story?

If you have done any of the above, or something similar, you have broken a fundamental principle of law. Besides the fact that you have not been given the authority to judge another person (see Romans 14:13, 1 Corinthians 4:5 and James 4:11), you may be shocked by how different from the truth what you heard is, by the time you carry out a full research or examination.

How sad will it be for you when you find out at your old age that you lost your sister, best friend, your marriage, your position, your possession, your honour or association, due to a lie you never bothered to investigate? Maybe worse, if the other person is no longer around to accept your apology?

God is supremely wise. Let's learn to listen to Him (read the Bible) and trust Him more than we trust our senses, you will be AMAZED by the wonderful life that would emerge.

God bless you.

2 Keys to the Best Marriage You Can Have. - by Joyce Meyer.

Marriage is a gift from God, and it’s also the most challenging relationship most people experience. Both husband and wife have to make a determined, diligent commitment to love each other, and that means submission and sacrifice.

It’s so important to understand this and to receive God’s unconditional love for us if we want to really love our spouse. Because without His love, we won’t have the ability to give everything needed for marriage to be healthy and long-lasting.

I know about this from personal experience because when I married Dave Meyer, I was a mess!

Because of the severe abuse I had endured growing up, I was insecure, unstable emotionally and had a lot of shame. So I couldn’t trust Dave and submit to him the way God wanted me to.

But as I became more desperate to have peace in my life, I began to seriously pursue a personal relationship with Jesus and learned how to study the Bible. It’s the best decision I ever made because it led to a healing journey that radically change my life—and our marriage.

A Lesson in Submission: The Towel Incident
Here’s one instance when God taught me a powerful truth about submission.

One morning, as I was praying, the Lord spoke to my heart and said, "Joyce, I really can't do anything else in your life until you do what I have told you to do concerning your husband."

The Lord had been dealing with me about being submissive to Dave. I had such a strong will and was still so insecure and easily offended that it was scary to think about submitting to him in our relationship.

After praying, I got up and went to take a shower in the new bathroom Dave had just installed next to our bedroom. Since he had not yet put up a towel rack, I laid my towel on the toilet seat and started to step into the shower.

Dave saw what I was doing and asked me, "Why did you put your towel there?"

Right away I could feel my emotions getting stirred up.

"What's wrong with putting it there?" I asked in a sarcastic tone.

In his logical, practical way, Dave answered, "Well, since we don't have a floor mat yet, if you put your towel in front of the shower door, when you get out you won't drip water on the carpet while reaching for it."

"Well, what difference would it make if I did get a little water on the carpet?" I asked in a huff.

Sensing the mood I was in, Dave just gave up, shrugged his shoulders, and went on his way.

As it turned out, I did what Dave had suggested, but I wasn’t happy about it. I did the right thing, but I did it with the wrong attitude.

As I stepped into the shower after throwing my towel on the floor, I said to myself, "For crying out loud! I can't even take a shower in peace! Why can't I do anything without somebody trying to tell me what to do?" In my frustration, I went on and on.

Although I was a Christian and had been in ministry for some time at this point, I still lacked control over my own mind, will, and emotions. It was three full days before I calmed down enough to get over that bath towel incident.

For those three days, I was the noisy gong and clanging cymbal described in 1 Corinthians 13.

What Real Love Is Really Like
Love is the highest form of maturity. It often requires a selfless sacrifice. And if we aren’t willing to make some sort of sacrifice on our part in a relationship, we probably don't love the other person at all.

The kind of love people can give in and of themselves is so limited. It gives back in response to what someone has done (often out of a sense of obligation) and it is often used to manipulate others to gain control of them.

But God’s love is pure, selfless, and unconditional. He doesn’t give us His mercy or favor only if we deserve it or try to earn it from Him through good works. No, God loves us because He IS love—it’s who He is and what He does (1 John 4:8).

The Beauty of Sacrificial Love
When it comes to marriage, you must have God’s love in your heart in order to truly love your spouse. When you do, you’ll always have his/her best interest in mind and desire to serve and support them. You’ll focus more on what you can do for your spouse than striving to make sure you get your way all the time.

Sacrifice is not always fun or easy, but when it’s motivated by godly love, it always brings greater peace and joy to your soul. It is a powerful investment in your marriage that will reap great rewards because God will work in both of your lives in amazing ways as you trust and obey Him.

I’m so thankful God helped me understand the benefits of godly submission and sacrifice in my marriage. Dave and I have been married for more than 50 years now, and our life together is the best it’s ever been.

I want to encourage you to give your heart and your marriage to God completely. Trust Him to give you the grace to love your spouse as He loves you. The blessings that will come as you diligently submit and sacrifice as God leads you to do so will far outweigh the growing pains you experience in the process!
