01/01/2026
As we start a new year we look back and reflect. We love this photo of Bishop Toby Howarth and Kaneez Khan who travelled to our launch in February all the way from Bradford.
This has been a year that tested patience, principles and our shared sense of belonging — a year marked by grief and gratitude, strain and solidarity. Yet as 2026 starts, there is also resolve: a quiet confidence that even the most difficult years can give way to renewal and hope.
At the British Muslim Network, we start the New Year offering thanks to our supporters. You have chosen dignity over despair, service over silence, and unity over division. You have supported families in crisis, challenged injustice, strengthened local networks, and upheld the principles of fairness, faith, and social responsibility that define our communities.
The year ahead calls for continued collaboration, principled leadership, and collective action. It calls on us to invest in inclusive leadership, to deepen trust within and around our communities, and to ensure British Muslims are heard, respected, and able to contribute fully to the society we call home.
The British Muslim Network remains committed to amplifying your voices, connecting efforts across sectors, and building a confident, inclusive, and values-driven future. Together, we will continue to turn challenges into opportunities and uncertainty into collective strength.
As Bishop Toby reminded us when he spoke at our launch, we must come together to stand in solidarity against hatred and division and to be hopeful in the face of adversity.
We wish you and your families a peaceful, hopeful, and purposeful New Year. May 2026 be a year of resilience, justice, compassion, and shared progress.
With best wishes and prayers from the BMN Team
