Music at St John's Hyde Park

This coming Sunday, 5th July, we will be joined by the wonderful Bath Celebration Choir for both the 10am Parish Eucharist (some lovely Brahms, with organ and orchestra) and a Prom Concert immediately following the service. At 11.30am BCC and the Choral Scholars of St John's will present a short but delightful concert of works by Goodall, Elgar, Snowden, Lauridsen, Sting and Bill Withers.

All welcome, as always! Our Prom Concerts are always free of charge.

On Sunday the St John's Orchestra said farewell to this excellent fellow, our Head of Percussion (and also Parish Administrator), after 33 glorious years working at St John's. Thank you Bryan Sollenberger for all your energy, hard work and tireless support. We wish you a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Passion Carols this Sunday at 6pm! Excerpts from Handel's Messiah & Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar, alongside works by Samuel Barber, Olivier Messiaen, Leonard Cohen and even a little new one by Nick Miller, performed by our wonderful choir and orchestra. Join us on the journey from Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the Crucifixion.

29th March at 6pm: Join us for a dramatic journey through the final days of Jesus, told through music and readings, set within the stunning surroundings of St John’s Hyde Park. Featuring St John’s Choral Scholars and Orchestra, the programme blends an eclectic mix of music, from Jesus Christ Superstar and Leonard Cohen to Handel, Messiaen, Samuel Barber and more, creating a powerful and immersive retelling of this enduring story.
