Exciting News!

The Friends of St Martins is now registered with the Charity Commission. The group aims to advance public education on the history, heritage and architectural significance of St Martin’s, and to advance arts, culture and heritage through use of the building for exhibitions, lectures and cultural events. This is great news for the future of this ancient city centre church and the community it serves.

This week is Celebrate Your CCT Church festival! Do drop into St Martins to see this wonderful ancient church, cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust right in the city centre. With Saxon origins it predates the earliest part of the cathedral! There will be stewards on Saturday afternoon to share interesting facts and stories about this fascinating building.

Here is our winner and runner up in the design a shield competition for St Martins. The competition was organised by artist Ray (featured in the photo) during our April Art In St Martins and there were over 50 wonderful entries.

We are very excited that Ray has asked artist Lucy Rockcliffe to make a ceramic version of the winning design!
