A historic staircase is more than just a thoroughfare—it is the architectural centerpiece of a building.
At 93 Mortimer Street, a stunning Grade II listed 18th-century building in Fitzrovia, our team at MGS Restoration Ltd was tasked with bringing a grand Pentelikon marble staircase back to its original glory.
As part of the building's prestigious transformation into a contemporary cultural destination, this iconic staircase required highly specialized care. Years of heavy use had taken their toll on the historic stone. Our expert stonemasons carefully executed extensive repairs and full diamond refinishing across every tread and riser. We were able to revive the natural clarity and elegance of the Pentelikon marble without stripping away its authentic heritage character.
While our team also restored the Grey Marquina marble window cills and installed perfectly matched stone in the main foyer, it is the sweeping, beautifully revived staircase that truly anchors the space, seamlessly blending London’s architectural legacy with modern design intent.
