📣 Thank you so much everyone for this 2023/24 year at UAL!

We have had so many events: Bible studies, Talks, Weekend Away, our ‘Image Bearer’ exhibition, prayer meetings, UCCF events and Forum! It has been a great year for the CU to grow and we have had so many people join and build friendships and learn about the word of God together. We are sad (and happy) to see some of our members graduate this year but we wish them the best 💖

A big thank you to Jim Mangles, Elliot Asante and Jonah Scott for serving on the CU committee this year and for all the hard work that went into organizing, planning, budgeting every event.

The CU had its last meeting in June, but we will restart events in September, so look out on our Instagram and other social media (available on the Linktree link in bio) for updates on the 2024/25 year events! 🥳

Interface! With Sarah White.

This Thursday, 3rd March: Interface!

Interface' is a monthly meeting between the arts universities of London, and their CU's - all are welcome to join in and hear about the lives of different people working in the arts.

Sarah is a London-based artist working across installation, performance and writing. Sarah completed her MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, and her BA at Aberystwyth University (Wales). Sarah has also worked as an artist mentor with Morphe Arts since 2012: supporting Christians working professionally in the arts and developing critical thinking and research across theology and the arts. Sarah's most recent projects include performing at The Swiss Church, London in collaboration with AbelShah and tyroneisaacstuart, and speaking at the Religion and Art Forum hosted by the Arts Chaplaincy Projects (UAL) and the Goldsmiths Art Department.

Sarah will be speaking at Interface on collaboration and dialogue within her practice, and in performance theory more broadly; considering this type of practice theologically as we see God create out of and for the purpose of relationship.

Events Week! 🎉
Monday 14th - Friday 18th of Feb

We have three events over the course of the week that we'd love to welcome you to! We encourage you to come and join in with the fun and discussions, and bring a friend. All events are free and just book via the SU website (links to book on our calendar in our bio).

Monday 14th Feb

As Tina Turner says 'what's love got to do (got to do) with it?', come along and break down some valentines TV ads, and discuss more about what this holiday is all about! Accompanied by some heart shaped snacks for a bit of cheesy fun.

Wednesday 16th Feb

A relaxed movie night, open for anyone and everyone! We'll have a little discussion about the movie afterwards, and of course plenty of popcorn to keep us going through the evening.

Friday 18th Feb

A draw-a-long story time, of the 'woman at the well', the story will be read and discussed and you will get to bring out your art skills to draw it as you hear it! There will be cheese, wine and good times.

Ending this year with heart warming fun and food, we wanted to give everyone the chance to come together and share in a Christmas meal, a traditional roast with all the trimmings.

We'll have a short talk and festive music to accompany our dinner, so please come along and enjoy all of this for FREE :-)

Just bring yourself and friends, the more the merrier!

Please have a picture of a negative lateral flow test (done within 24 hours) before coming, and wear masks when not eating, to keep everyone safe!

We'll be meeting together to get to know others at UAL and to ask questions together about who Jesus is. This is open to all, so you don't have to know anything about Jesus or Christianity before coming! We'll meet as one group and then split off into smaller groups for more discussion followed by snacks and games. Feel free to come if you just want to listen or if you are already a believer in Jesus and want to meet others who believe in him too.

The content we'll be looking at this term is 'Meals With Jesus'. Not only will this help us get to know who Jesus is better, but we'll see how the way he shared meals has loads of implications for how we experience student life today.

Who are UAL CU and what are they for? UAL CU: Give it a go! will be a chance for you to get to know what the Christian Union is, and eat and talk with other students at UAL who might be exploring similar questions or for anyone who just wanted to come along for a chat and some free food.

We'll be meeting together from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at Chelsea, in the Lecture Hall, and will be accompanied by Dohyun Baek (Mikey) - UCCF's Art Network Coordinator who will give a short talk introducing what a Christian Union is and specifically in the conext of an Arts University.
