Before you cross over into 2026, take a moment to honestly take stock of your friendships. Pause and reflect on the relationships you carried with you through this season. Ask yourself how those friendships have truly impacted your life, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

Did these relationships draw you closer to God, or did they slowly pull you away from His presence? Did they encourage your faith, your character, and your purpose, or did they leave you drained, confused, or stagnant? Scripture reminds us, “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33). The people we walk with matter more than we often realise.

Healthy friendships are not one-sided. Consider whether you were the only one putting in the effort to maintain the relationship, or whether there was mutual care, respect, and intentionality. God-honoring friendships are built on balance, honesty, and shared values. “Two are better than one… for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10). A true friend does not compete with your growth, they celebrate it and support it.

More importantly, the right relationships should push you to become a better version of yourself. They should challenge you to grow, hold you accountable in love, and encourage you to pursue holiness. “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). Godly friendships refine you, they don’t keep you comfortable in places God is calling you to outgrow.

As you prepare to step into 2026, pray for discernment and courage. Ask God to remove relationships that no longer align with His purpose for your life and to strengthen those that are rooted in love, truth, and faith. Surround yourself with people who pray with you, speak life over you, and remind you of who you are in Christ, especially when you forget.

Remember, friendships are not just about companionship; they are about destiny. Choose relationships that help you grow closer to God and propel you toward the person He is calling you to become.

A Lesson from a Pimple – God Speaks in the Smallest Things

Something unusual happened to me yesterday, 22/08/2025.

I was having lunch with some friends, and I noticed that one of them had a pimple on her left cheek. For some reason, that little pimple distracted me throughout the entire meal. I kept thinking to myself, “Why doesn’t she just pop that pimple? Doesn’t she see it’s sticking out?” It was bothering me so much that I found myself losing focus during our conversation, even asking people to repeat themselves because my eyes kept drifting back to that one little blemish.

But here’s where it gets interesting. After lunch, while driving home, I suddenly felt an itch on my right cheek. When I scratched it, I felt a bump. I pulled down the mirror to check, and to my shock, there it was, a pimple, almost identical to the one I had been judging on my friend’s face! 😱

At that exact moment, the Holy Spirit whispered Matthew 7:3 to me:
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

I froze. God was teaching me something right there in the car. I laughed and prayed, “Ahhh Lord, me!? Judging? Okay, please take this pimple away 🫣 I get the message!”

That little moment carried such a big lesson. How often do we get distracted by other people’s flaws, mistakes, or shortcomings, while ignoring the things God is trying to correct in us? Sometimes, instead of focusing on our own growth, we waste precious time and energy pointing out what others should be doing differently. And when we do that, we risk missing out on what God wants to do in our lives in that very season.

James 1:19 reminds us: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

And Romans 14:4 says: “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.”

People may call you fake, unteachable, or even mock you. Sometimes their words or actions come from a place of their own insecurity. But instead of judging them back, God calls us to pray for them, just as Jesus said in Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

The truth is, God is intentional even in the smallest, most practical things. That “pimple moment” wasn’t random. It was a loving rebuke, a reminder that He is shaping me, pruning me, and drawing me closer to His heart with wisdom.

Prayer
Father, thank You for speaking to me even in the little things. Teach me to be slow to speak, slow to anger, and quick to listen (James 1:19). Lord, convict me if my actions, words, or attitudes cause offense, and help me to walk humbly before You. If others judge me wrongly or try to harm me, I ask You to be my vindicator (Romans 12:19). Give me a heart that chooses prayer over judgment, grace over criticism, and love over pride. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Imagine being bitten by a venomous snake. Instead of immediately seeking treatment to stop the poison from spreading, you turn your focus toward the snake. You run after it trying to figure out why it bit you. You cry out in confusion, “What did I do to deserve this?” You try to prove your innocence to others, to yourself, maybe even to God. But while you’re chasing the source of the pain, the venom is quietly seeping through your bloodstream affecting your heart, your mind, your spirit.

This is what unforgiveness, bitterness, and unresolved pain does.

The longer you chase the “snake”, whether it’s a betrayal, rejection, trauma, or injustice the more the poison of that moment begins to shape your identity and direction.

But here’s the truth, letting go is not weakness. It’s wisdom. It’s not surrendering to the offence, t’s surrendering to the Healer.

“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:15 (NIV)

The enemy would love for you to spend your life chasing the one who hurt you, angry, distracted, and bleeding so you never fully heal. But God is inviting you to a different response: stop running after the snake, and run to the Savior.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

Letting go doesn’t mean what happened to you was okay. It means you trust God enough to say,
“Lord, You saw it. You know the pain. But I will not let this define me. I will not let it poison my purpose.”

“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’” Romans 12:19 (ESV)

Healing starts when we stop rehearsing the hurt and start releasing it. When we stop chasing justice and start trusting Jesus.

You may not have deserved the pain, but you absolutely deserve the healing. Let go not because it didn’t matter, but because your peace matters more.

Letting go isn’t losing the battle.
It’s how you win the war.

“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22 (NIV)

Called for Such a Time as This

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14 (NIV)

You were not born by accident. God, in His infinite wisdom, crafted you with intention and placed you in this generation for a purpose greater than you can imagine. Whether you’re in a season of waiting, raising children, leading in the workplace, or simply seeking direction, know this: your life has divine significance.

Esther was an ordinary young woman placed in an extraordinary position. She didn’t seek the spotlight, but when the moment came, she leaned into God’s calling not with certainty, but with courage. Like Esther, you may not feel fully ready, but God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips those He calls. Your influence — in your family, your community, your ministry matters. Even the quiet, unseen acts of obedience are part of His grand plan.

Don’t underestimate the season you’re in. Don’t despise the small beginnings or the hidden moments. God sees, He knows, and He is working through you. Your purpose is not a future destination it’s a present reality. You were created to reflect His glory right where you are.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose and placing me in this world for such a time as this. Even when I feel unsure, remind me that You have equipped me for everything You’ve called me to do. Help me to walk boldly in faith, trusting that every step I take in obedience is part of Your divine design. Use me to empower, uplift, and reflect Your love to those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
