My Dear Parishioners,

We have begun this important season of Lent. It is a time of preparation so that we may come to the celebrations of Easter with much joy and gladness. Lent is a time when we look more closely at what Saint Leo calls "the daily grime of human existence."

All of us struggle with sin in our lives. We "miss the mark" which is what the Greek word for sin means. We fall short of all that we can be. We even at times do things that we do not want to do or would rather not do.

Lent challenges us to become like Jesus, who trusted in God's word even in the face of the temptation of the devil. May our Lord show us in this season of Lent how to trust in God and how to trust one another.

I love you all.

My Dear Parishioners,

Our readings today speak of the daily choices that all of us must make. So often we do not think of our daily choices as a part of our spiritual life, but these choices reveal what kind of person we are. The first reading is very clear: we have the possibility of choosing life and goodness or death and evil. Life and death are before us and God will give us what we choose. We are invited to look into our own hearts and ask: do I choose life in my daily decisions?

I love you all.

Dear Parishioners

Jesus tells us in the gospel today that we are the light and salt of the world. He went further to say that if we do not fulfill our role as light and salt, we are as good as nothing. This means that in helping the needy, giving hope to the hopeless by being kind and spreading love around us especially in our family, neighbourhood and community, we become the light and salt Jesus talked about.. May we allow the gift of God in us to change and light up the lives of people around us.

Dear Parishioners

On this Sunday, we are invited to embrace the life of poverty. Theologically speaking, to be poor does not mean to possess nothing. It is a call to be poor in spirit, which means a humble person who sees God as his hope, helper, defender, and believes that God is the ultimate guarantee for his happiness. Therefore, he puts all his trust in God. May we in humility see God as our all.

Dear Parishioners

Prophet Isaiah in the first reading gives us a message of hope. He said "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light". This light is Christ. Many of us are experiencing so many challenges which can be a dark moment of our life. May we experience a great light (Christ) in these dark moments of our life.

My Dear parishioners

Today we celebrate the baptism of the Lord.

The significance of this feast to us is that the baptism of our Christ invites us to share in his life. Therefore, to be part of his life, we need to renounce all that separates us from becoming a dwelling place for him.

03/01/2026

My Dear Parishioners,

Happy New Year

Today we celebrate the birth of the Messenger from heaven. As we read in today's gospel, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:1, 14). He comes to liberate us from the human predicament, our sinfulness. For it is sin that mars and disfigures the beautiful image of God that we all are. Jesus is this heavenly messenger.

Let us allow the Jesus, the heavenly messenger to lead us in this new year 2026.

I love you all.

My Dear Parishioners,

Happy New Year!

Mary treasured all these things and reflected on them in her heart." Mary is the focus of our liturgy on the first day of the new year. May this new year be a time when each of us takes the time to ponder the word of God, to treasure the actions of God in our own lives. God invites us to spend quiet time ponder the word with Mary as a model. Our lives can change radically by our learning to be quiet and listen to the Lord.

May our 2026 be blessed.

I love you all.

My Dear Parishioners,

We have just celebrated Christmas and today we are celebrating the feast of Holy Family, focusing on the life of Jesus with Mary and Joseph. There seems to be no such thing as an ordinary family, perhaps there never was. Each family seems to have its own dynamic and its own challenges, sufferings and graces.

Let us pray today for the strengthening of family life throughout our world and in our own country.

I love you all.
