We are delighted to share that Maggie Swinson, Chair of the Liverpool Diocesan Board of Finance and Lay Canon and Chapter Trustee of Liverpool Cathedral, has been awarded an OBE in His Majesty The King's Birthday Honours for services to the Church of England and the Anglican Communion.
For more than four decades, Maggie has given outstanding service to the Church at local and national levels. Her leadership has helped shape the life of the Church of England and the Anglican Communion through roles including membership of General Synod, leadership within the Anglican Consultative Council, and her ongoing service to the Diocese of Liverpool and Liverpool Cathedral.
As Chair of the Liverpool Diocesan Board of Finance and a Lay Canon and Chapter Trustee of Liverpool Cathedral, Maggie is known for her wisdom, integrity and unwavering commitment to the Church's mission. She has been a tireless advocate for collaborative leadership, strong governance and the flourishing of communities across the Church.

Maggie combines strategic insight with genuine humility and grace. She has helped shape conversations across the Church nationally and internationally, while always remaining grounded in the practical realities of parish and diocesan life.
