'Church at 4' is a place for all ages - adults often new or returning to faith enjoy the discussion, adults enjoy the art reflection, children and busy adults enjoy the calm of a craft activity or lego build, our toddlers love the freedom to explore in a safe space and experience the love of God for themselves. 'Church at 4' has become a place to explore faith, ask questions, get to know each other, have a bit of space and to belong. We'd love you to come and see for yourself - 4pm on Sundays. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

A huge thank you to everyone who worked hard to help 80 party guests celebrate today.
Holy Trinity is 170 and several church members had a significant 0 birthday.
Bishop James came to cut the cake and give thanks. We enjoyed zimmer frame racing, quizzes and party games. Thanks to Cakes by Eve for another delicious cake.

Congratulations to Maggie

You might remember that our Vicar Sheri and Maggie, one of our Lay Readers have served in wider Diocesan Roles as Warden and Co-Warden of Readers for Church of England Birmingham. You might remember that Sheri steps down from this role at the end of June to focus more on parish ministry.

We are delighted that Bishop Michael has appointed 'our' Maggie to serve as Warden of Readers for Church of England Birmingham.

The Update news from the Diocese this week announced that

"Maggie was licenced as a Reader in 2015 and served as an Assistant Warden before being appointed as Co-Warden in 2024.

Maggie succeeds Revd Sheri Gidney, who is stepping away from the role of Warden to focus on other aspects of ministry. Sheri served with distinction and we are grateful for her fruitful ministry among our Readers.

Maggie will be assisted by Charles Mazungunye, who has been appointed as Co-Warden of Readers. Charles is a Reader at Smethwick Old Church and brings significant gifts and experience to the role.

Bishop Michael said,
'I am delighted that Maggie and Charles have agreed to serve as Warden and Co-Warden of Readers and I look forward to working with them on this hugely important area of our ministry and mission. I want to express my deep gratitude to the Rev'd Sheri Gidney for her faithful service. She leaves a strong foundation to work from and we are in an excellent position to continue to see growth and flourishing in Reader Ministry in Church of England Birmingham. Please pray for Sheri, Maggie and Charles.'"

On Sunday morning (even though we know Maggie will find it a little uncomfortable) we'll be celebrating and praying for Maggie in our morning service. Warden of Readers is a significant role that has a great impact across the Diocese and we are so thankful for Maggie's ministry both in our parish and across the Diocese and at National level too.

Here are some photo of Maggie with 3 different bishops!
