Happy Father's Day From all of us at South Bank Sanctuary
Today, we gave all the fathers, men, and role models here a small solar light. It’s a simple gift, but there’s a powerful lesson in it.
This light won’t do much sitting indoors. It needs to be placed outside where it can receive light before it can give light.
In the same way, as fathers, grandads, husbands, men, and role models, we can’t give out what we haven’t first received. The father in the story of the Prodigal Son reflected God’s love because he lived close to the Father himself. If we want to shine in our homes, encourage our children, lead our families, and make a positive difference in our communities, we need to spend time in God’s presence and receive His light first.
We hope this little light serves as a reminder that when we stay connected to God, His light fills our lives, enabling us to shine brightly and pass that light on to others
