Father John Bielawski. May he rest in peace. 🙏

A message from Bishop Nicholas:

I am sorry to inform you that Fr Jon Bielawski died a little before 11.00 a.m. today, Wednesday 22nd July. He was being cared for by Nazareth House to which he had moved at the end of last week.

Our prayers are with his family and friends, especially the parishioners of Crownhill, Southway and Yelverton and all the many parishes in which he served so generously across the Diocese these last 36 years.

Details of the funeral arrangements and an obituary will be published in due course on the Diocesan website.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. St Mary Magdalen, pray for him. Blessed Dominic Barberi, pray for him.

We were delighted to welcome a group of 60 young people to our church yesterday. They came from London, Portsmouth and Plymouth as a neo-catechumenate group. After a talk from Patty and Fr John, they venerated the holy relic, and then processed into town to visit the places associated with St Cuthbert Mayne, singing the Rosary on the way.

You are welcome to plant in our vegetable garden next weekend. Bring what you need and help yourself. Some ideas for planting in April: Seeds to sow: Carrots, cabbage, Kale, Cauliflower, Potatoes, Lettuce. Seedlings to plant out: Broadbeans. All vegetables grown will be donated to Launceston foodbank, as last year.
