Found Church Scotland We meet every Sunday at 10.45am at Found Church, Main Street, Larbert. Teas and coffees are served from 10am, and everyone is welcome. W. Evans.

Found Church has been in existence for 100 years, having been pioneered by the late Pastor H. The first building was opened by Sir Ian Bolton on 22nd March 1922. After a temporary relocation due to development, the present site was purchased and a building erected with the full backing of the local ministers in 1954. One of the guest preachers that day was the internationally known "Apostle of Ba

lance" Donald Gee who was pastoring in Edinburgh at the time. Donald Gee frequently ministered in Larbert. The building was extended during the ministry of Pastor Moonie, and then in 1996 under the leadership of Pastor Michael Rollo the building was practically rebuilt, the seating capacity was increased, and a small creche and disabled access/toilet were added. Due to an increase in attendance, morning services are now located at Larbert High School. Found Church is in fellowship with, and subscribes to the Statement of Faith of the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland, which is a group of around 650 Churches. There are Assemblies of God fellowships in most countries of the world with membership well into millions. The Church is also a member of the Evangelical Alliance. Today approximately 250 people would consider Found Church as their home church, however nearer 250-300 different people come through the doors to attend the various activities offered in the weekly programme. The Assemblies of God is part of the worldwide Pentecostal movement, which now forms one of the largest sections of the Christian Church. Pentecostal Churches emphasise the need for the miraculous, life transforming power of the Holy Spirit to be at work in the Church and in the world today. The rapid growth of the Pentecostal Movement,with an estimated several hundred million adherents, is largely due to this emphasis. The founder Pastor was well known in the community for the "gift of healing" with several testifying to being healed through prayer in the Name of Jesus. Still today the Church believes in the miraculous power of God and several members of the present congregation have experienced both the saving and healing power of Christ.

What would people say they have heard about your life? Would they mention your achievements, your opinions, or the things you own?

When Paul heard about the believers in Colossae, two qualities stood out: their faith in Jesus and their love for people.

Because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people (Colossians 1:4).

Their faith was not hidden or confined to private moments. It was visible in the way they lived. People could see that Jesus had changed them. Their trust in Him shaped their choices, their priorities, and the way they responded when life became difficult.

Genuine faith and love belong together. Following Jesus is never only about what we believe in our heads. It should affect how we speak, how we serve, how we forgive, and how we treat those around us.

Loving all God’s people can be challenging. Some people are easy to love, while others test our patience. Church family includes different personalities, backgrounds, and experiences. Jesus does not call us to love those who think like us or make life comfortable. His love stretches us beyond preference and convenience.

This does not mean ignoring unhealthy behaviour or pretending that difficult situations do not matter. Biblical love is honest, wise, gracious, and willing to seek what is best for another person.

Imagine becoming known as a church where faith in Jesus is strong and love for people is impossible to miss. That kind of community attracts attention for all the right reasons.

Faith becomes powerful when it moves beyond words. Love becomes convincing when it costs us something. May our trust in Jesus be real, our care for people be practical, and our lives give others something worth talking about.

Love is one of those words we use all the time. We love our family, our friends, our favourite meal and even a good cup of coffee. But the love Jesus calls us to is much deeper than a feeling or a preference. It is a way of living that places others before ourselves.

Paul writes that we should: Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2).

Jesus did not simply speak about love. He showed it through His actions. His love was generous, patient and willing to sacrifice. He welcomed people others ignored, forgave those who failed and gave His life for people who could never repay Him.

Walking in love means following that example in the ordinary moments of life. It might look like listening when we would rather speak, forgiving when we have been hurt, showing patience when someone is difficult or giving our time when it would be easier to stay comfortable.

This kind of love is not always easy. Sometimes it costs us something. Jesus never promised that loving people would be convenient, but He showed us that love has the power to bring healing, restore relationships and point people towards God.

Perhaps the greatest challenge is to love people when we do not feel like it. Feelings can change quickly, but the love of Jesus gives us a better foundation. We can choose kindness, grace and compassion because we have already received them from Him.

Every conversation, decision and relationship gives us an opportunity to walk in love. We will not always get it right, but we can keep looking to Jesus. His love is both our example and our strength every single day.

There are moments when approaching God can feel intimidating. We may wonder whether we have prayed enough, behaved well enough or somehow earned the right to come close. Our failures can make us want to hide, while disappointment can leave us unsure whether God wants to hear from us.

Paul gives us this assurance: In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence (Ephesians 3:12).

Those words change everything. Our access to God does not depend on our performance, our feelings or how good our week has been. We come to Him because of Jesus. His death and resurrection opened the way, so the door into God’s presence is not reluctantly unlocked, it’s wide open.

Freedom means we do not need to pretend. We can bring God our questions, fears, frustrations and struggles. Confidence does not mean arriving with all the answers. It means knowing that we are welcomed, loved and heard because we belong to Jesus.

Sometimes we treat prayer like an emergency number, only calling when life falls apart. But God invites us into an ongoing relationship. We can speak with Him during the school run, on the way to work, while making dinner or sitting quietly at the end of a difficult day.

Perhaps you feel distant from God today. Maybe guilt has convinced you to stay away until you have sorted yourself out. Jesus invites you to come as you are. Grace is not a reward for people who have everything together. It is a gift for people who know they need Him.

Whatever today holds, you have access to God. Come honestly, come freely and come confidently. The Father is not avoiding you or waiting to turn you away. Through Jesus, you are always welcome in His presence.

It is easy to look at other people and think they have something special that we do not. They seem more gifted, more confident or more useful to God. But Scripture reminds us that we have been created with purpose.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

The word handiwork carries the idea of something carefully designed and created. You are not an accident, an afterthought or a mistake.

God knows exactly who you are. He sees your personality, your abilities, your experiences and even the parts of your story that you wish were different. In His hands, every part of your life can be used for His glory.

This verse also tells us that God has prepared good works for us to do. That does not mean we earn His love by working harder or trying to impress Him. We are saved by grace. Good works are our response to what Jesus has already done for us.

Most of these opportunities will not feel dramatic. It might be encouraging someone who is struggling, making time to listen, serving quietly, welcoming a new person at church or showing kindness when nobody else notices. Small acts of obedience can make a huge difference.

God has placed you where you are for a reason. Your workplace, school, family, street and church are all places where His love can be seen through you. You do not need to copy someone else or wait until you feel completely ready.

You are God’s handiwork. Ask Him to help you notice the opportunities He has already prepared, then take the next simple step of obedience. Trust Him to use your willing heart today.
