On Sunday we celebrated Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit came like wind and fire, filling ordinary people with courage, hope, and new life.
During the service we reflected on how Godâs Spirit still meets us in the middle of ordinary life: in our fears, questions, hopes, and weariness, not to condemn us, but to strengthen and encourage us for the journey ahead.
We began with a rather unexpected song choice, thinking about how the light of Christ placed within us can be fanned into flame by the Holy Spirit, so that we may shine with love, hope, and compassion in the world around us, a bit like a firework!
There was also an opportunity for prayer and anointing with oil â a quiet reminder that God still comes close to ordinary people with grace, healing, and peace.
A joyful and hope-filled celebration of the Spirit who continues to renew the Church and breathe life into the world.
âCome, Holy Spirit.â
