We’ve had such a lovely summer spending time together, sharing our encounters with God and trying out different activities each week. 💛

We’ve prayed for ourselves and others, thought about love, patience, forgiveness, assurance and healing, let go of some of our burdens, shared acts of kindness, and reflected on the words and experiences that bring us together.

All of those prayers, thoughts and stories have gone into making this amazing collage picture of Jesus. It’s full of little pieces from everyone’s stories and feels like such a special way to look back on our summer together.

It also fits so well with our new sermon series, Jesus Is…, which started today. We began by bringing our questions and doubts and thinking about one big question: Who is Jesus?

We’re excited to see where the series takes us, and we’d love for you to join us. What ever stage you are at in your faith journey!✝️

We have had a fabulous summer hearing about our 'Everyday Encounters with God'. It has been such an encouraging time and culminates on Sunday 30th with reflections from Jill and Hannah’s Baptism.

'Everyday encounters with God' This Sunday we begin our summer series, we will be hearing from each other not just the Vicar! I pray it will be a time of encouragement for us all, as we share our stories of places we have met with God and how these moments have shaped us and encouraged us through the ups and down of life. Last Sunday we reflected on Jesus' parable of the wheat and the weeds, and on how easily we can be tempted to write people off, including ourselves.
Through the story, and the words of Psalm 139, we were reminded that God knows us completely, loves us deeply, and is still at work in every one of us.
We thought about the people who may surprise us with the ways they grow and change, including those we might never have expected to find faith. We were encouraged not to judge someone by just one chapter of their life, because God is still writing the whole story.
The God who sows generously is also the God who waits patiently.
May we never be too quick to write anyone off, not our neighbour, not our family, and certainly not ourselves.

Last Sunday we reflected on Jesus' Parable of the Sower and discovered that it may not be asking us, "What kind of soil am I?" Instead, perhaps the more hopeful question is, "Where is God already bringing hidden seeds to life?"
Together we explored the extraordinary generosity of God, who scatters love and grace far more widely than we might expect, and we were reminded through Isaiah's beautiful imagery that God's word is like the rain, quietly bringing life and growth, often long before we can see the results.
We reflected on the different seasons of our lives. There are times when we feel weary, distracted or closed off, and other times when hope, compassion and faith seem to blossom. The good news is that God is patient with every season. We are not defined by one moment or one experience. God continues to work within us, gently nurturing new life.
As we closed our worship with John Bell's Take, O Take Me As I Am, we were invited simply to come before God as we are, not perfect, but loved and to trust that the One who sows the seed is still at work, bringing hidden life into bloom.
May we go into this week with open hearts, looking for the quiet places where God is already at work in us, in one another, and in our community.

Our First Community Breakfast Club 🥐☕️

On Saturday we hosted our very first Community Breakfast Club in the church hall, cooked and served by wonderful members of our community.

It was a warm, welcoming space to meet people from our local community and make new friends, and we’re so grateful for everyone who came along.

We had such a great turnout for our first one and we’d love to see even more faces next time.
Our Community Breakfast Club runs on the 1st Saturday of each month.

Last Sunday's sermon invited us to reflect on the nature of sin, forgiveness, and the barriers that can sometimes grow between ourselves and God. We were reminded that sin is not our identity, nor our struggles or wounds, but rather those things that prevent us from fully receiving God's love and sharing it with others. The service culminated in a deeply moving act of response, as members of the congregation were invited to bring a sugar cube—representing whatever burden, hurt, guilt, bitterness or regret they were carrying—to a bowl of water at the front of the church. As the sugar dissolved and disappeared, we were given a powerful visual reminder that, through Christ, our confessed sins are truly forgiven and removed from us. For many, it was a profound moment of grace and release, reminding us that God is continually breaking down the barriers that separate us from Him and inviting us into the freedom of His love and forgiveness.
