Sung Eucharist for Pentecost

It's Fairtrade Fortnight! For two weeks each year at the end of February and start of March, thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us more than ever how interconnected we are globally. This interconnection is at the very heart of the Fairtrade message and is where your role begins. You are part of the Fairtrade movement and you have the power to drive long-term change, not only with your shopping choices but with your support in spreading the message.

Buying 's wonderful food and soap products is a great way to support fairtrade. Claudine has olive oil in 3 sizes (£15, £10 and £5), Medjoul dates and Jericho almonds (£3.50), Maftoul (couscous) and Freekeh (smoked wheat), za’atar (sesame seed and oregano) herb mix and olive oil soap (all £2.50 each). Buying these products really helps farming communities in Palestine. Please email Claudine at dandcmcc [at] gmail.com if you would like to buy anything.

Thank you to all those who responded last year with their 'Everyday Faith' bios, telling us a little about how their faith and interaction with St Anne's impacts upon their daily lives. During Lent, we would love to share these as a way of getting to know one another better and reflecting upon our own faith journeys.

Emily Norman is keen to hear from anyone who would be willing to share this information, either by answering the questions below, or by having a virtual chat with Emily which can then be made into a podcast episode which the congregation can listen to (perhaps on their daily exercise).

1. What is your name, and how long have you been part of St Anne’s Church?
2. What do you spend the majority of your time doing, outside of church? Why do you do what you do?
3. Does what you experience at St Anne’s make a difference to your work/everyday life?
4. Can you tell us something not many people know about you?

Please email Emily if you would be interested in joining in!

Our church is open for private prayer on weekdays between 10.00–11.00 a.m.

On entry, you will be asked to give your name, email and telephone number in case we need to track and trace you. Please wear a mask.

Please use the hand sanitiser and then you will be shown to a safely distanced chair at the front of the nave where you may pray, reflect or just sit quietly, as you choose. We ask you to go no further than the signs at the front of the nave and not to touch anything, please.

There are prayer cards should you wish to have one. There are no toilet facilities available.

It is our hope to begin to reopen St Anne’s for public worship starting on Ash Wednesday. We hope to offer you a Sung Mass at 8:00 p.m., but this will not include the imposition of ashes as during this pandemic this is deemed to be an unsafe action. We will post details on our website and the numbers attending will be limited to 30. As in the past, you will need to apply to attend via the Parish Office and observe social distancing and hand cleansing. The service will also be livestreamed. Importantly, we are not allowed to congregate with others either before or after the service.

Junior Church has resumed, with online sessions for younger children at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays and the resumption of Zoom sessions for KS2 children this Friday.

Older members of our Junior Church worked collaboratively to walk the length of the Camino de Santiago within six weeks. They achieved this distance on 2 January, planting a number of trees along the way. Now they would love to hear from any members of the congregation who have actually walked the Camino, to learn about their stories. If you are able to help, please email Emily.
