1. Hagar

* The Story:
* Hagar was an Egyptian servant to Sarai (Sarah). When Sarai could not have children, she gave Hagar to Abram (Abraham) to bear a child for them. Once Hagar became pregnant, Sarai grew jealous and treated her so harshly that Hagar fled into the wilderness. Years later, after Sarah had Isaac, she demanded that Hagar and her son Ishmael be permanently cast out to fend for themselves.

* The Result :
* God met Hagar in the desert during both exiles. He provided water, protected her son, and promised to make Ishmael a great nation. Hagar uniquely named God El Roi—meaning "the God Who Sees Me".

Martha at the Tomb of Lazarus
* The Story: When her brother Lazarus fell deathly ill, Martha sent for Jesus to heal him. Jesus intentionally delayed His arrival, and Lazarus died. Upon Jesus' arrival, Martha openly voiced her disappointment: "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died" (John 11:21).
* The Takeaway: Jesus validated her honest sorrow and met her disappointment with compassion and an incredible demonstration of His power.

PRAYER
