We have a very busy Sunday tomorrow, as we say farewell to our Revd. Adam as he moves on to his new circuit. At 10:30am Adam will be preaching on Still Waters, New Paths. During the afternoon we will be saying goodbye with a special circuit farewell service at 4pm.

Both series will be live streamed at: https://live.hounslowmethodist.org.uk or on our youtube channel.

🎡 Bell Road Band β€” Psalm 134 🎡

"Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord..."

Psalm 134 is a song of blessing and praise, short but so powerful. It's a call to lift our hands and our voices in worship, recognising that we are servants of the Most High God.

This week Bell Road Band invites us to join in that blessing, that lifting up, that praise. Even in difficult times, and many of these songs were recorded during COVID when we had to keep our distance, our voices and our faith can ring out. πŸ™

🎬 Watch the video and let your heart be lifted in praise today.

With summer well and truly here, here are three small ways to be kind to creation:

🌿 1. Grow something. Even a pot of herbs on a windowsill supports pollinators and reduces food miles.
🐝 2. Leave a wild corner. If you have a garden, let part of it go a little wild β€” it's a haven for bees and butterflies.
πŸ’§ 3. Collect rainwater. A simple water butt can save thousands of litres from the mains supply each year.

As an Eco Church, we believe the way we live our daily lives can be an act of worship. πŸ™

πŸ¦… Psalm of the Week: Psalm 91 - Safe in God's Wings

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" - Psalm 91:1–2

Summer can bring storms, sudden weather changes, unexpected challenges. This psalm offers profound comfort: no matter what comes, we are safe in God's care.

The psalm uses beautiful imagery of shelter, shadow, wings, fortress all the ways God protects and cares for us. It's not that we won't face difficulties; it's that we face them knowing we are not alone.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." - Psalm 91:4

Imagine yourself beneath those protective wings. Resting. Safe. Known by God. That's the promise of this psalm. πŸ›‘οΈ

🎡 Bell Road Band - Psalm 23 🎡

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want..."

This week we're sharing the beloved Psalm 23 sung by Bell Road Band. There's something so comforting about hearing these ancient words set to music words that have brought comfort to believers for thousands of years.

Whether you're walking through a difficult valley or standing on a mountaintop, Psalm 23 reminds us: "Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life."

🎬 Watch the video to hear this beautiful arrangement and let us know what is your favourite hymn or psalm? We'd love to hear! πŸ’›

🏠 Psalm of the Week: Psalm 84 β€” Longing for God's House

"How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." β€” Psalm 84:1–2

This psalm is a beautiful celebration of God's house β€” not just a building, but the place where we encounter the holy, where we gather in community, where we worship together.

After a time when many of us couldn't gather in person, these words hit differently, don't they? There's something precious about physical gathering, about worshipping alongside others, about the "courts of the Lord."

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." β€” Psalm 84:10

This is a psalm of deep belonging β€” belonging to God, belonging to His people, belonging to His house.

Do you feel that sense of belonging when you come to church? When you gather with God's people? Let that feeling deepen this week. πŸ’›

A Big thanks to Rajie and Jackie for organising a wonderful Frugal Lunch in support of the Christian Aid Appeal on Saturday.

The menu was delicious, daal, white rice with paratha, and a hearty soup, and huge thanks to Lauren for the gorgeous homemade cakes that brought it all together.

It was such a lovely atmosphere with great food, wonderful company, and a kids' activity table where children could colour and decorate windchimes to take home.

AND THE BEST PART? We raised a fantasticΒ£492.67 for Christian Aid. What an incredible result for such a worthwhile cause.

Massive thanks to everyone who came along, supported us, and to Rajie's mum for handling the money and helping to count it all.

Rajie and Jackie, you should be so proud. This is our church in action. πŸ™

A Monday thought for you πŸ’›

Sometimes the most important thing a church does isn't a big service or a grand event. It's the small things: a cup of tea, a listening ear, a prayer prayed for someone who doesn't know you prayed it.

That's what we try to be at Hounslow Methodist, a community of small, faithful acts.

Thank you to everyone who is part of that. Whether you join us on Sundays, come to Welcome Place, share a meal at CafΓ© Together, pray with us on Wednesday evenings, or simply follow along online, you are part of this community.

We're glad you're here. 🌿
