Faithful God, thank you for the light that never fails even in seasons of darkness.
You know all that we carry, especially the moments when hope feels thin,
yet you continually meet us with gentleness and love.
Where relationships are strained, bring healing.
Where hearts are weary, breathe strength.
Where joy has faded, spark it back to life.
Help us notice the quiet gifts in each day – the people who stand with us, the love that shapes us, the grace that restores us.
May gratitude rise within us, and may we journey forwards held by your enduring love. Amen.

Helen Kirk, Chair, Chester and Stoke-on-Trent District

'The summer of 2026 should be a wake-up call for those of us in Britain. The climate crisis has arrived, and if we are serious when we say we are called to do justice then climate action must be central to everything we do.'

Read a reflection from The Methodist Church’s Net Zero Engagement Officer, Jack Slater-Wells, who writes amid record-breaking heat waves, droughts and wildfires affecting much of the UK. Read now at methodist.org.uk/about/our-stories/this-summer-is-a-wake-up-call-for-climate-action/

"God can offer acceptance, hope and new beginnings."

In 'Grades don't always define ability', the Revd Tony Miles reflects on this week's theme of 'My best result' and concludes many traits, including honesty and openness, make you who you are, whereas exam results offer only a tiny snapshot of a moment in time.
