We are aware of the frustrations caused by the current, and forthcoming, closure of Hammersley Lane, and the impact and inconvenience this causes for everyone using the local network.
We have been in contact multiple times with the various agencies concerned, raising our objections to the plans and emphasising that the suggested alternative route of C**k Lane has a significant section of single-track road, a narrow traffic light controlled railway bridge and passes directly in front of Tylers Green Middle School where pick up/drop parking already causes traffic issues.
Unfortunately, despite best efforts no amendments to the current plans have been made.

As things stand today:
Lower section (just north of Robinson Road) - Currently closed until midnight on Friday 29 May.
Upper section (near St Margaret's Close) - Closes Monday 1 June at 8am, until Friday 12 June at 6pm.

Details on current and planned roadworks can be found here:

One platform to plan, monitor, communicate and analyse traffic disruptions.

The decision has been made to move away from the booklet style and for it to be available electronically. This should make it easily accessible for as many people as possible, but be assured we will have hard copies available in various locations around the parish for those residents who are not online.

Tyler’s Green Ward

Following concerns by local residents…

We ask that you please do not use the fire-ride on the Common as a play area. (Strip of land used as a fire break behind the houses on New Road) It is not an area for riding bicycles as it is used regularly by pedestrians. Accidents could happen

Thank you
