Buckinghamshire Council are now inviting residents and organisations to make representations on the Draft Local Plan for Buckinghamshire (publication version) during the Regulation 19 consultation period.

The Local Plan sets out how Buckinghamshire will grow and develop to 2045.

It will guide decisions on where new homes, jobs, infrastructure and community facilities should be located, while protecting and enhancing Buckinghamshire's natural, historic and built environment.

This Regulation 19 consultation is the final opportunity to make comments before the Draft Local Plan for Buckinghamshire is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination.

For full details please see:

We're inviting residents, businesses, landowners, developers, infrastructure providers and other interested parties to make representations on the Draft Buckinghamshire Local Plan during the Regulation 19 consultation period.

🔥 This afternoon we have had a fire intentionally started in Kings Wood, Tylers Green. 🔥

Mindless acts like these put all users of the woodlands and neighbouring properties at risk, not to mention the potential destruction of this valuable natural habitat.

We are grateful to the resident who alerted us to this, and of course to Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service whose swift action has stopped the fire from spreading further.

Please ensure young people are educated with the risks of these behaviours, particularly in this period of exceptionally dry weather.

We ask all residents to be aware of the additional risk of fire currently, and follow the advice provided by Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service below.

📣Recently, our firefighters have been responding to a number of outdoor and field fires. With the warm weather and dry vegetation continuing, we are asking people to take extra care.

Please help reduce the risk by following these simple safety tips:
🚬 Dispose of ci******es and smoking materials responsibly.
🏕️ Never leave BBQs unattended or light them in grassland areas.
🔥 Take litter home, glass bottles can magnify sunlight and start fires.
🚜Farmers and landowners, should regularly check and maintain machinery, and carry fire extinguishers where possible, as hot equipment can ignite dry vegetation.

Even a small fire can spread rapidly through dry grass and vegetation, putting people, wildlife, and property at risk. Read more about outdoor fire risks and advice on our website 👉 https://bit.ly/4aHLC9T

‼️ ATTENTION ASHLEY DRIVE ALLOTMENT SITE TENANTS

A hosepipe ban is now effective (and enforceable from 17 July) in the Affinity Water region, which includes the Ashley Drive allotment site. Until we are advised otherwise, please only use a watering can to maintain your plot.

Details of the ban can be found here: https://www.affinitywater.co.uk/hosepipeban

📣Recently, our firefighters have attended a number of outdoor fires. With the hot weather continuing and grass and vegetation becoming increasingly dry, we're asking everyone to take extra care when spending time outdoors. Small actions can help prevent fires and protect our communities, countryside and wildlife 🤝

Stay safe by remembering:
🔥Never place disposable or portable BBQs directly on dry grass and ensure all BBQs are fully extinguished before leaving.
🚬Dispose of cigarette ends responsibly, never throw them from vehicles or onto the ground.
🚜Farmers and landowners should regularly check and maintain machinery, and carry fire extinguishers where possible, as hot equipment can ignite dry vegetation.

📞If you spot a fire, move to a safe location and call 999 immediately.
