✨🌙🕌 EID AL-FITR 2026 🕌🌙✨

EID MUBARAK! 🎉
Eid Al-Fitr will be Celebrated on Friday the 20th of March 2026.

Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

Dear brothers and sisters,
We have just received information that the new moon has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia.
Therefore tomorrow Thursday 19th March is the 30th of Ramadan.
The first day of Shawwāl (Eid al-Fiṭr) is on FRIDAY 20th March 2026

We ask Allah ﷻ to accept our fasting, our prayers, and all our good deeds, and to grant us the blessings of this joyous day.

🌙 Eid Prayer Arrangements 🌙

There will be two congregational Eid prayers:

First congregation: 8:00 AM

Second congregation: 10:00 AM

In shā’ Allāh, we aim to begin the prayers promptly.

We kindly request everyone to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early for Takbeer and to allow for smooth organisation and seating.

🕌 Ladies’ Prayer Area
The sisters’ prayer space has been expanded to include an additional upstairs room.

🍬 Eid Refreshments
You are welcome to bring sweets and beverages to share after the khuṭbah as part of the Eid celebrations.

Please help us maintain cleanliness by keeping the area tidy, especially in preparation for the next congregation.

🕌 Friday prayer will be on usual time of 13:15 pm

If you attended the EID prayer on Friday 20th March, you are not obliged to attend Friday prayer.

May Allah ﷻ allow us to witness this Eid in good health and happiness, unite our hearts, and accept from us all.

Jazākum Allāhu khayran.

Community Iftar held yesterday and it was a truly special evening.

We were honoured to welcome members of our wider community to join us in opening our fast and to learn more about the meaning and spirit of Ramadan. It was heartening to see people from different backgrounds come together in an atmosphere of warmth, respect and understanding.

Events like this highlight the importance of unity, compassion and peaceful coexistence — building bridges through shared experiences and strengthening the sense of togetherness within our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening so memorable ❤️.

Statement from the Bangor Islamic Centre.

Once again, we stand as a Muslim community in North Wales in deep sadness and solidarity with the people of Australia following the horrific terrorist attack during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach.

There is no excuse or justification for such a heinous act. Violence against innocent people is utterly condemned.

As Muslims, we are guided by the words of Allah in the Holy Qur’an:

“Let not the hatred of some people lead you to transgression and hostility against others. Rather, help one another in furthering virtue and God-consciousness, and do not help one another in furthering evil and enmity.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured, the bereaved families, and all who are grieving in the aftermath of this tragedy.

Each time such an atrocity occurs, we renew our commitment to building peace, fostering understanding, and nurturing goodwill—within our own communities and across the world.

Thank you.

Statement from the Bangor Islamic Centre.

We at Bangor Islamic Centre strongly condemn the recent atrocities and violence committed against our brothers & sisters in the Jewish community in Manchester. Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this time of grief and pain.

Such acts of hatred and violence have no place in our society and stand in direct opposition to the values of our faith and our shared humanity. Islam, like Judaism and all faiths, upholds the sanctity of life, peace, and mutual respect.

We reaffirm our commitment to stand in solidarity with all communities against hatred, and to continue working for peace, compassion, and justice for all.

Datganiad gan Ganolfan Islamaidd Bangor.

Rydym ni yn Nghanolfan Islamaidd Bangor yn condemnio’n gryf y trais a’r erchyllterau diweddar a gyflawnwyd yn erbyn ein brodyr a’n chwiorydd yn y gymuned Iddewig yn Manceinion. Mae ein calonnau a’n gweddïau gyda theuluoedd y dioddefwyr yn ystod yr amser hwn o alar a phoen.

Nid oes lle i weithredoedd o gasineb a thrais fel hyn yn ein cymdeithas, ac maent yn groes i werthoedd ein ffydd a’n dynoliaeth a rennir. Fel Iddewiaeth a phob ffydd arall, mae Islam yn parchu sancteiddrwydd bywyd, heddwch a pharch at ei gilydd.

Rydym yn ailgadarnhau ein hymrwymiad i sefyll mewn undod gyda’r holl gymunedau yn erbyn casineb, ac i barhau i weithio dros heddwch, tosturi a chyfiawnder i bawb.
