This is a very powerful portrayal of the life of Jesus and the ‘normal, ordinary’ folk he called to follow him.

Just like you and me.

Today, we had an excellent Sunday afternoon concert from Leeds West Hunslet Salvation Army…

The afternoon program consisted of some solos, (portraying amazing flexibility and virtuoso of talent) band pieces and choral singing , with a spiritual thought to bring everything together.

The variety of music presented was modern worship, classical, sacred and gospel.

The intertwining theme was trust in God, which was reflected in the range of repertoire: including ‘God is Good’, ‘Build your Kingdom’, ‘God and God Alone’, ‘He is alive’, ‘Jesus Lord’, O Church Arise’.

We really do thank Leeds West Hunslet Salvation Army for really blessing us who were present - to what was an exceptional faith based concert. Leeds West Hunslet Salvation Army have set the bar as we, as Keighley Salvation Army launch ourselves to a year of amazing concerts.

Our amazing Matthew we are so proud of, here at Keighley Salvation Army.

He has taken what was wasted space and reused, repurposed and recycled most of it to create an abundance and array of plants for use in our kitchen, cafe and to give away…(our eco-project)

Here is Matthew’s tip for today…his repurposing to water his plants. (He dressed as a banana to brighten your day)….enjoy :0)

On Refugee Week (15-19 June) we at Keighley Salvation Army will be showing the film ‘The
Swimmers’ (Doors open at 3.30 - film starts at 4pm).

This is a film about two young sisters embarking on their journey as refugees. It highlights them putting their gifts and abilities to use . It is a story of transformation. Showing how triumph can overcome adversity.

Here is our lovely Matthew offering some sound advice…to keep all the plants moist this weather.

Matthew believes in recycling, reusing and repurposing as part of Keighley Salvation Army’s Eco Project.

Today, in the cafe we ate from produce that Matthew has grown out back - being very eco-friendly.

Well done Matthew we are all so proud of the way you are growing, the way that God is using you, and the impact you are having on those around you.

Join us, at Keighley Salvation Army for Pentecost Sunday, this Sunday at 10.30am.

Pentecost is the major Christian festival celebrated on the 50th day after Easter.

It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other early followers of Jesus in Jerusalem, which empowered them to share their faith and is widely regarded as the "birthday of the Church."

It will be a joy for you to join us for this special Sunday.

The Salvation Army is well known for its music making. It is with this in mind, that we here at Keighley Salvation Army are hosting a whole load of concerts - most that are free.

The first couple of music making concerts are in a few weeks.

1) Leeds West Hunslet Salvation Army will be bringing to us a faith-based concert on Sunday, 7th June at 2.30pm.

2)Queensbury Music Centre will then bring to us an amazing brass band concert on Sunday, 14th June at 2.30pm.

Both these concerts are free. Due to fire regulation, and monitoring seats, you will have to obtain a free ticket from ticket source.com. (The link below will take you to our page)
