Pray with us today.

Come, Holy Spirit. Come near to us and bless our prayer. Refresh, renew and fill us that we might receive our calling anew. Teach us patience that we might reflect your patient love as we seek to sing a new song so that in all things we might give glory to God, through Christ and in the power of the Spirit. Encourage us and fill us with hope for the future that with warmed hearts, fresh harmonies and renewed hands and voices we might pour ourselves out in love for others as you have poured out your love for us in Christ. Come, Holy Spirit. Come, Lord, come.

What song shall I sing today? What prayer shall I pray today?

Abide with me, O Love Divine.

Thank you, God, for music and song in our hearts and lives.

I pray to you every new morning, anticipating what might lie ahead.

I pray to you in the afternoon, thinking of family and friends.

I pray to you in the evening, repeating “Thank you, God” for life in all its richness, remembering all who cannot sing or pray because of pain and sorrow in their lives.

News reports and social media feeds can often make it feel like the UK is more divided than ever. The voices of those who spread hate and seek to divide communities can seem loud, but they ignore the millions of actions which spread hope and kindness every day, and show what is possible when we come together to make positive change happen.

From 13–20 May, A Million Acts of Hope will bring together all these everyday acts of hope and shine a light on the people and communities making them happen. It’s a national initiative being led by community and faith groups, and charities big and small.
