Sometimes we ask God to change the situation, but God begins by changing us.
Jacob entered the encounter seeking a blessing, but his encounter with God went far deeper than what he expected. He wrestled, he was wounded, his strength was broken — and yet he came out transformed. He entered as Jacob and left with a new name: Israel.
There are seasons where God allows the struggle not to destroy us, but to reshape us. He exposes what we have been relying on, confronts the pride we have carried, and teaches us to depend on Him in a deeper way.
Jacob walked away limping, but he also walked away changed. The wound became a reminder that he had encountered God and could no longer remain the same.
Some struggles are not meant to destroy you; God can use them to reshape your heart, break your dependence on your own strength, and draw you deeper into Him.
