Today was Café Church... but what exactly is Café Church?

Well, its a little different from a normal 10:30 Sunday service at St Mary's....

It's held in the Church Centre rather than in the church building itself.

We gather around tables with tea, coffee and often home made goodies to eat.

As with any service though, we still worship, pray and learn from God's word, but in a more informal and interactive way and there's plenty of opportunity for discussion, questions and sharing thoughts together.

Regular members love Cafe Church but its also a great space if you haven't visted us before to get to meet us, build friendships and enjoy being part of the church together.

If you've never been before, why not come along next time - its the first Sunday of each month, and see for yourself what Cafe Church is all about.

The church is on the move… literally!

This morning, the congregation experienced a new church layout, including new areas for children and youth, the workshop group now meeting at the front, and a quiet prayer ministry area in the back corner.

This is a temporary arrangement while we see how it works and gather people’s thoughts and feedback.

We’d love to hear from you - what do you think? If you have not seen it in person, come along and take a look for yourself.

At our 10:30 service yesterday, we explored the Gifts of the Spirit - and it wasn’t just the adults learning!

In All Stars, our children’s group, Gail helped the children discover that God has given each of us unique and special gifts. At the start of the session, every child received a “gift” - a piece of fruit.

Each fruit was lovely on its own, but then something amazing happened… they combined them all together to make a delicious fruit salad!

The children learnt a powerful lesson: while every gift is valuable individually, when we share our gifts and bring them together, something even more beautiful is created.

Easy, tricky or impossible?

That’s what we were asked to consider at the 10:30 service this morning, with the jars representing each one (yes… Gail forgot the labels!)

Questions included…

- Ordering a pudding so she can “share”

- Do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

- I love you more than coffee… but please don’t make me prove it!

- Love each other as I have loved you.

So… which jar would get a ball in for each of those for you?

We have a birthday today, and it’s one of our Church Wardens…..

Happy Birthday Rob!

So much of what a church warden does happens quietly behind the scenes, often unseen but absolutely essential to the life of our church. We are incredibly grateful for all the time, care, and dedication Rob gives.

At yesterday’s APCM, we also took time to honour and give thanks for another of our Church Wardens, Chris. Chris is not currently with us and is deeply missed by many, but his many years of faithful service and tireless commitment to St Mary’s, Greenham will never be forgotten.

It’s that time of year again - our Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is this Sunday!

We’ll be gathering after the service to reflect on all that’s happened over the past year and to look ahead to what is to come.

If you’d like to find out more about what’s been going on at St Mary’s, you can read our Annual Report on our website:

What a fantastic Easter Sunday celebration we shared yesterday!

A big thank you to the St Mary’s Greenham Choir for their performance and we enjoyed wonderful, uplifting worship in celebration of the hope and joy that Easter brings.

We were blessed to have two baptisms, including one by full immersion - a powerful and meaningful moment for everyone present.

He is risen indeed!

A special little helper joined us for our Palm Sunday celebration service yesterday to remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

“The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’ ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ‘Hosanna in the highest heaven!’” Matthew 21:9 (NIV)
