My last Sunday was an opportunity to worship with Rogersville church of Christ. Adam gave a report here on a previous visit. My hopes of an appointment in the morning fell through, so I had the blessing of worshipping with the brethren there at the invitation of Conrad and Glenna McRight. Afterwards, we had lunch together and Mike Fry, one of the elders came over to talk with us about their hopes of helping.

After lunch, I had a visit with Dick and Jean Savage. Dick serves as an elder at Mayfair Church of Christ. They love the church in Scotland and it was good to have enough time to visit with them.

In the afternoon, I met with the elders at Decatur Highway church of Christ in Gardendale. They support our work, and were grateful to hear of our work in Cumbernauld. Afterwards, I worshipped with the congregation and presented the slideshow. There was lots of fellowship afterwards too which I loved. Their preacher, John McMath, is a dear friend that I have known since 2004, and a great encourager. Also, he is the voice of the latest audiobook from The Jenkins Institute.

After worship, I had the final drive to Fayetteville church of Christ before I fly home on Monday.

My last Saturday before I return home was an opportunity to visit with three families in Tennessee who are very dear friends.

First I saw David and Millie Rushlow. David and I were students together at the Florida School of Preaching. We had a good catch up and chat about the building. David offered some help with appointments for my next trip.

Next was a trip to Collinwood to see Jack and Cindy Barber. Beth and I first met at Polishing the Pulpit a few years ago. They were disappointed that Beth wasn't with me, but we'll see them again in August at Polishing the Pulpit.

My final visit was with Tim, Peggy, and Claire Weatherford. They have visited Scotland several times and are very dear friends of Cumbernauld. Tim is a chaplain with Maury hospitals in Tennessee and a student at Heritage Christian University.

Friday had three appointments, but one cancelled because of ill-health.

First up was a breakfast with Ken Forrest from Booneville, Mississippi. Ken is from North Carolina originally and has done mission work in many countries, particularly in the Pacific. We had an encouraging visit.

Next was a short trip (about an hour which is short for this visit to America) to Russellville, Alabama to meet Jeff Johnson. I've known Jeff since he was preaching in Conyers, Georgia. While together, I got a message that my next appointment in Wetumpka was cancelled. Jeff and I had a great visit catching up after several years. His congregation in Georgia was involved with the work in Scotland before Covid.

A few messages after leaving Russellville and I set up three appointments for Saturday. Bit more travelling tomorrow, and staying with friends in Rogersville, Alabama for two nights before heading to Gardendale on Sunday and then Atlanta.

Thursday was a big drive day, but first I had two appointments in Oklahoma before a drive to Mississippi.

First, I was in Chickasha to meet Don & Sharon Page whom I've known since 1991 when I first came to Oklahoma. Also, Dianne came too. Dianne was married to Rod Carroll who preached the first gospel message I ever heard. Sadly, Rod died in a car accident in 2014. Dianne has since remarried. We had a great visit and spoke about the work in Cumbernauld.

My second visit was with David Hendricks, an elder from the Southwest church of Christ in Ada, Oklahoma. We met in Shawnee for lunch a two-hour visit. David was deeply encouraging about our work and took some extra books for his fellow elders.

After lunch with David, I had a six and a half hour drive to Olive Branch, Mississippi. More appointments tomorrow!
