Glasgow Central Mosque opened to the public in 1984 as the first purpose-built mosque in Glasgow. It works with other mosques throughout the city to help and represent Muslims from every background. As one of the most recognisable buildings in the city, it is visited by a large number of people, including the media, schools, colleges, universities and anyone wanting to learn more about Islam. Each

week, thousands of Muslims pray, gain knowledge, get married or attend funeral prayers here, which makes it the focal point of their lives from beginning to end.
