1. BravePositiveStrong: £302.41 has been raised from a combination of the retiring collection (£149.20) and coffee after church (£153.21) - an impressive total.

2. The Brave Positive Strong Foundation would like to say a big thank you to everyone in Williamwood Church who has contributed in any way to our charity. We are hoping you make life easier for children and their families while they are receiving cancer treatment. Your kindness and generosity will help greatly. Thank you all very much. Jerry Taylor

3. The next get-together at Rouken Glen Garden Centre will be on Tuesday 1st September at 10.30. As usual, all welcome, so please come along for an hour or so for fellowship and chat.

4. The Boys Brigade will start their new session on Friday 4th September and we look forward to welcoming all the boys back into the Church Halls. We have spaces for boys in Primary 1 through to Secondary 6, so if you know of any boys in the local area or beyond, who would like to join, please encourage them to get in touch. Mark Gordon.

5. The men’s lunch club, GOALIES, meets on Friday 4th September in Williamwood Golf Club at 12.30. Please indicate your attendance on the attendance sheet in the entrance vestibule .If you have any questions please contact Alastair Graham at home.

6. Doors Open will start again on Thursday 3rd September 10 - 12. Please drop in to the vestibule for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat.

1. Retiring Collection will be available at church Vestibule for donations to Brave, Positive, Strong, Charity. The total raised at the Garden Open Weekend for the children's cancer charity stands at £1,783.00. The funds raised through Williamwood Church is in excess of that raised at the Garden Open Weekend.

2. The Armed Man conducted by Karl Jenkins is on at the Concert Hall on Sunday 20th September at 3.00pm. There are not many tickets left, mainly on the second level. (£32.86 and £43.50 which includes a £6.00 booking
fee). If anyone would like to go, can you let Evelyn Wallace know asap.

3. Any article for the September Newsletter should be with Evelyn Wallace by Wed 26th August.

4. The Undici Project (11 piece chamber orchestra) Sunday 30th August 7-8pm
Admission by cash donation (£5 suggested) includes w**e and refreshments after the service.

5. BROOM CRAFT GROUP: The group meets through the winter on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, from 2pm - 4pm in the Columba Hall. Bring along something to do or just come for a chat and a ‘cuppa’. The first meeting will be on Tuesday 1st September. All welcome. Maureen Marshall.

6. FRIENDS - Our new Session will start on Tuesday 1st September. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the Ninian Hall at 7.30pm. This is a gathering of people who enjoy getting together. We will have a wide range of topics, events and activities. It’s an informal group to which everyone is welcome (members and friends). Just come along on the evening or if you would like further information please contact Aileen at the Church Office, 0141 639 3528.

5. Revd Archibald Chisholm. It is with regret we have to announce the death a week past Monday of the Rev Archie Chisholm who had a ministry at Stamperland Church in the 1970’s. He was 93. Archie served at St Andrew’s Leven as well as Rannoch with Braes of Rannoch before his retiral to Nairn in 1998 where he recently died. Archie requested that his body be donated to medical research and so there is no funeral. However, a Service of Remembrance for Archie will be held at: Dunkeld Cathedral on 20th October (at a time still to be intimated). We remember Archie’s four daughters and their families in their loss.

4. Donny McKenzie
Donny’s funeral will take place on 5th August, 1pm at Hurlett Crematorium and a memorial service at Broom Church at 2.30pm. Both services will be conducted by Rev David Graham.

Intimations for Sunday 26th July 2026

1. Please join us after the service for refreshments in the hall. Proceeds from tea, coffee and a pop-up stall will be for The World Food Programme

2. There will be a pop-up stall at coffee after church on Sunday 26th July with lots of lovely things for sale. All proceeds will be for The World Food Programme.

3. Mtende Community Project is holding an Afternoon Tea in Broom Parish Church Hall on Saturday 8th August at 2pm. Fiona Gunning will be giving an update on the work of the charity over the last year. Entry is by ticket only at £10 and the tickets are available from Fiona. Donations of raffle prizes, home baking and gifts for the stall will be gratefully appreciated.

The charity being supported this year is Brave Positive Strong, a charity very close to the members of Williamwood Church. Please come along and see the trains and enjoy tea/coffee and cake.
