1. Come and join us after the service for refreshments. Teas on Sunday are in aid on the World Food Programme.
2. Holy Communion will take place on Sunday the 7th June at 11.15am
3. Stated Annual Meeting will take place in the Sanctuary on the 14th June after morning service.
4. Richard Scholfield. Trio Alba
The second of our summer concerts takes place on
Sunday 21st June from 7-8pm, and features Soprano voice, cello and piano.
Entry is by cash donation on the door (suggested £5), and includes refreshments after the concert in the halls.
5. The BB will be running a score prediction competition for the forthcoming World Cup - please speak to Mark Gordon or Alan Black to register your interest and for more details (alternatively email [email protected]) and we can send you out a sheet. This is open to all (entry fee applicable).
6. The Guild are holding their main fundraising event of the year in the large hall on Saturday 4th July from 2pm to 4pm when they are having a coffee afternoon. Tickets are priced £5.00 or payment can be made at the door. If any church member would be willing to provide baking or items for the raffle of tasty items for eating or toiletries any donations would be very much appreciated. Hampers will be made up for the raffle. Please come along and support our coffee afternoon.

4. Richard Scholfield. Saxophone Quartet
The first of our summer concerts takes place tonight from 7- 8pm, and features the Scottish Saxophone Quartet. Our organist Richard Scholfield will be joined by three colleagues to perform popular pieces by J.S. Bach and Claude Debussy, as well as original works for saxophones and even some traditional folk tunes to finish. Entry is by cash donation on the door (suggested £5), and includes wine and refreshments after the concert in the halls.

5. The next get-together at Rouken Glen Garden Centre will be on Tuesday 2nd June at 10.30 am. As usual, all welcome, so come along for an hour or so of fellowship and chat.

6. The men's lunch club, Goalies, will meet on Friday, 5th June, at 1pm in Williamwood Golf Club. Please let Alastair Graham know if you are planning to attend by ticking your name off the list in the entrance vestibule or by contacting him at home by Wednesday.

7. INVITATION TO THE LAUNCH OF:
‘Wide, wide as the ocean’: The Legacy of Church of Scotland Summer Missions: 1934 – 2011
Rev. Douglas Nicol is delighted to announce the publication by Handsel Press of the book on his MTh research on Church of Scotland Summer Missions, and an invitation is extended to all who encouraged him in his studies to attend the launch gatherings or obtain an early copy of the book.
The Launch gatherings will be as follows: GLASGOW LAUNCH: Saturday 27 June 2026 at The Renfield Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4JP, at 2.30pm, with guest speaker, Revd Dr Doug Gay, Principal of Trinity College, Glasgow. 3. Congratulations to Lynn McGhee who won the quiz with a score of 29/30. The quiz raised £43 for church funds. Thank you everyone. Aileen.

4. Articles for the June Newsletter should be with Evelyn Wallace by Wed 27th May. There will be no newsletter in July and August.

6. Thank you to everyone who donated to Christian Aid Week using the donation envelopes. The total amount raised was £253.21. Adding this to the amounts raised at the Coffee Day and "Coffee after Church" a fortnight ago means that the good people of Williamwood have donated a total of £1,432.62 towards the work of Christian Aid, which will be used to improve lives wherever it is needed most. Once again, thank you.

We had a lovely service today in celebration of our Boys Brigade. This included a fantastic address from our BB Captain Mark Gordon and then the presentation of the King’s Badge. Well done Ross on this wonderful achievement 🎉⭐️

The first of our summer concerts takes place on Sunday 31st May from 7-8pm, and features the Scottish Saxophone Quartet. 3. Any remaining quiz entries should be posted in the box at the front door today. The winner will be announced next week and the correct answers will be available at coffee after church next week too.

4. Welcome all the boys, officers, parents and family members who join us today for this morning's worship with The Boys' Brigade. You are welcome today, and every Sunday. Our BB / Your BB is extremely grateful for the ongoing support and encouragement that we receive from the congregation. Tea and Coffee will be served after this morning's service by the BB, please join us and speak to some of the boys and officers. The BB will be running a score prediction competition for the forthcoming World Cup - please speak to Mark Gordon, Alan Black or Sean Smith to register your interest and for more details. This is open to all (entry fee applicable).

5. The coffee day last Saturday raised £1074.31 and coffee after church on Sunday raised £105.10 making a grand total of £1179.41........ a magnificent sum which will be used to improve lives, wherever it is needed most. Many thanks to all those who gave so generously of their time, talents and money to make this possible.
Although this year's Christian Aid Week finished yesterday (Saturday) there are still Christian Aid Week donation envelopes available in the Church this morning should anyone still wish to make a donation. These can be put into the plate when the offering is being uplifted.

2. This is the last week it is possible to buy a quiz sheet. Copies of the quiz are at the front door. All entries should be posted in the box by next Sunday.

As previously intimated, there will again be no “house-to-house” collection this year so Christian Aid Week donation envelopes are available in the Church today and also next Sunday should anyone wish to make a donation. 1. Come and join us after the service for refreshments.
2. The Guild have arranged an afternoon tea at the Prince and
Princess of Wales Hospice at Bellahouston Park on Monday 11th
May at 2.30pm. The cost is £20.00. If anyone from the
congregation, and friends, would like to join us please speak to
Evelyn Graham to add your name to the list. We will be going in
cars as in previous years so transport will be arranged. Please
advise if you have any special dietary requirements.
3. The Williamwood Guild team were 2nd equal this week in the
Glasgow South Guilds Together regional quiz. Well Done

4. How good are you at quizzes? Buy a church quiz sheet for £1
available in church vestibule or in the hall after church.
5. The next get-together at Rouken Glen Garden Centre will be
on Tuesday 5th May at 10.30 am. All welcome, so come along for
an hour or so of fellowship and chat.
6. Mary Miller, who wrote an exceptional biography of Jane
Haining, shall be speaking about Jane Haining's life and work in
Queen's Park Church - where Jane attended - on Sunday 17 May
at 3pm. This event, organised by the Council of Christians and
Jews, is open to all and you are welcome to make this more widely

8. After the success of previous Coffee Days there will be another
one on Saturday 9th May from 10am to 3pm at 37 Ashfield Road
(opposite Carolside Nursery). As there will be no “house-to-house”
collection again this year during Christian Aid Week this will be an
opportunity to raise much needed funds for Christian Aid’s work
where there is need around the world. As well as tea, coffee and
home baking there will be cards, plants and home baking for sale. All
welcome.
9. Doors Open; there will be no Doors Open next Thursday due to
the Election.
10.There will be a Fairtrade stall next Sunday 10th May. See you
