Today as part of opur carol service we made Christingle apples which can be turned into baked apples. It was a lovely surprise to have some visitors, including Commissioner Cochrane.

Our Toddlers finished today for the Christmas holidays. The children have been making a nativity to take home and hearing the account of how Jesus was born to be our Saviour. It has been a great term! Well done Mel and Ambreen for all your energy to help make it such a brilliant place to be and thank you to all the mums, dads, grandparents and carers for the way you have contributed to the beautiful atmosphere.

Today we celebrated our harvest festival. Thankful people with thankful hearts for a faithful God of the harvest. Gifts of produce were placed on the mercy seat for the community food bank. And harvest envelopes placed on the Bible.
The message was given on Matthew 13:3-13 (The Parable of the Sower) and Psalm 92 (A Song for the Sabbath).
The meeting was followed by a ploughman's lunch and delectable homemade puddings.

Today we celebrated the 4th Sunday of Advent by making Christingle apples (Bramley apple, scented nightlight, red ribbon, and dried fruits). These remind us that God's love in Jesus is part of the plan to bring redemption for the world.
A blessed Christmas to you from Barrhead Salvation Army

A big 'thank you' to all who contributed to today's harvest celebrations. For all the work which went into making a lovely display, those who worked so hard to make the prayer blankets, those who brought flowers to brighten up the church, those who brought various items to be given to the food bank , those who donated to the harvest appeal and those who came to enjoy the service - thank you. We are also very grateful to Major Alison Raybould who led the celebration service. We thank God for the ability to share such abundance together.
The picture shows the prayer blankets and some of the tins and packets donated, although much more was added later.

Today we celebrated our 135th anniversary with cake and considering Psalm 135 in the service. This corps has been blessing Barrhead for a long time with various activities and different people involved. We are grateful for the many saints who have been involved and all the hard work over the years.
Thank you Janet for cutting the cake. We have so much to be grateful for. May God bless this corps with spiritual and numerical growth for the future.
