*** Come Out from Among Them ***

In this inspiring short video, Pastor Crawford Harvey urges the congregation to separate themselves from worldly temptations and impurities, encouraging them to adhere to the Lord's commands. He empathises with the challenges of standing against societal norms, but reassures that the Lord's embrace, power, and love are always available. Emphasising a personal connection with God, he calls both brothers and sisters in faith to seek the Lord's heart, promising that His longing is for them. The message is one of spiritual renewal and unwavering faith in God's grace and acceptance.

Pastor Crawford Harvey in his sermon is discussing the biblical account of the apostle Peter's imprisonment and miraculous escape as an allegory for divine intervention and spiritual liberation. He emphasises how Peter, despite facing ex*****on, is able to find peace in his unwavering faith and trust in God, understanding that whether in life or death, he belongs to God. The crux of the sermon is the miraculous deliverance of Peter, emphasising that no matter how dire the circumstance, God's power and presence can bring freedom. He underscores the powerful metaphor of chains falling away when God's presence descends, signifying liberation from one's trials, both literal and metaphorical. The message encourages faith and hope in God's power to liberate us from our darkest situations.

In this sermon, Pastor Crawford Harvey encourages his congregation to face life's trials and tribulations with the same mindset as Christ. He argues that Christians, although they may face persecution and even martyrdom, are ultimately saved by the grace of God. These challenges are not a sign of God's disfavor, but a testament to a life lived in dedication to Christ. Christians are called to not only endure hardship, but to do so with a spirit of joy, knowing they're sheltered within the spiritual 'ark' of Christ. The Pastor emphasises the importance of arming oneself with the mindset of Christ in order to overcome trials. In doing so, believers can navigate any difficulty.

We have entered into the Ark through faith in Christ, we have entered into that Ark and we are safe, hallelujah. Oh, the day is coming when that final judgement of God will be poured out. The world will feel it, the remnant won’t, praise God. The elect are going home, hallelujah. The Ark is going to take the remnant church all the way home to glory. When we step out ‘so to speak’, we step out onto the land of the promised land, the land of the kingdom. We will never experience the judgement of God. The Ark, which is Christ, Oh the Ark will be pounded, has been pounded, but He stands in Victory. Christian, if your heart is untouched by that, my goodness you need a check, is that not the truth?

Pastor Crawford Harvey, in his sermon, emphasises the unwavering nature of God's promises. Using the example of Apostle Paul, he highlights that, despite the challenges Paul faced in spreading the Gospel, God stood by him, offering him strength and assurance. Pastor Harvey underscores that God does not change His mind like humans do and when He makes a promise, it's a guarantee, a secure covenant that will be fulfilled. This reliability should offer comfort, encouragement, and certainty to believers. He also introduces the concept of divine protection inherent in God's promises - when God makes a promise or a call, He not only equips the individual for the task but also provides protection to them.

Pastor Crawford Harvey focuses his sermon on the endurance of believers, drawing strength from Jesus Christ's triumph over the works of evil. He discusses 1 Pet 3, emphasising the encouragement it provides to those facing persecution for their faith. The Pastor also emphasises the necessity of fortitude in their local context, Glasgow. The sermon, "Locked In by Free and Sovereign Grace," further dissects the profound effects of Christ's suffering. Using the analogy of Noah's ark, he depicts God's enduring patience and the promise of salvation amidst judgment.

Thank God that He doesn’t treat us the way we treat one another, at times. Aren’t you grateful tonight, sitting here in this church that even though you’ve messed up with the Lord in the past, you’re here hallelujah. Even although you’ve gone for a wonder, you’re here. Even although you’ve sinned and you’ve hurt people and you’ve done and said the wrong thing, hallelujah, you’re here in this church tonight, because God all the while was thinking about you. I think that’s an amazing thing. That’s something that should really fill us up to overflowing. If it doesn’t thrill you to the depths of who you are that Almighty God is thinking about you all the time, then you are not going to get excited about anything.

In his message, Pastor Crawford Harvey emphasises the importance of recognising our inherent value in the eyes of God, and distinguishing this from the negative thoughts and feelings that often plague our minds. He warns against the devil's attempts to make us feel unworthy or inadequate, using these insecurities to harm us. Instead, he urges us to adopt a biblical understanding of our own weaknesses, as King David does in Psalm 40:17. The pastor cautions against confusing a humble acknowledgment of our limitations with a damaging belief in our uselessness. He encourages his listeners to resist accepting these negative thoughts about ourselves and to choose to listen to God's voice, which asserts our worthiness in Christ and our divine purpose.

Pastor Crawford Harvey discusses a passage from First Peter, chapter 3, which is often debated due to its ambiguous meaning. He focuses on the reference to 'imprisoned spirits', and the confusion this has sparked among religious scholars. He considers different interpretations, such as these spirits being the souls of disobedient humans who died during Noah's time however this is not his viewpoint. The Pastor also raises questions about why this passage would only refer to people from Noah's era, since God is consistently displeased with unrighteousness throughout history. He encourages his congregation to listen to his interpretation but acknowledges that it's simply his perspective and should not be taken as definitive.
