A marvellous time was had by Gidea Park CWL members when we met for the first time since lockdown on Monday for Afternoon Tea (socially distanced, of course) in Karine’s lovely garden. We had a selection of the usual prizes, plus home grown vegetables freshly dug from Hilary’s allotment, including carrots, spinach, broccoli, rose garlic, etc. Much needed funds were raised for Saint Francis Hospice which, like many charities dependant solely upon donations from the public, are suffering from a severe depletion of cash at the moment.

An evening of fun and frivolity at last night’s CWL meeting from our very own Tom Hind, master magician and musician, together with his beautiful assistant.

Don’t forget our meeting this coming Wednesday starts at the earlier time of 7.20pm. Our guest speaker is Tom Hind who will entertain us with Magic history, stories and a few tricks.
