Tomorrow (Sat) there will be another of our popular Organ Promenade Concerts: come along at 10:30 for refreshments and chat, with visiting organist Morley Whitehead (Morningside Parish Church, Thistle Foundation) playing an eclectic programme from 11am. Prepare, as always, to be mightily impressed. (Image: the Reid's eastern windows.)

As you'll maybe know, from today Reid Memorial Church Edinburgh is united with Blackford and Grange Parish Church Centre as *Blackford & Grange Parish Church*, with Marchmont St Giles as its primary place of worship. More info can be found on our website https://www.reidmemorial.org.uk.

I'll keep this page going for a while and let you know if more info comes my way. A video of the service on 28th December, which was the last regular worship at the Reid, can be streamed via the link below. Wishing you a hopeful 2026. David

The following is from Karen McKay, the Reid's Interim Moderator:

'Dear Reid Memorial Hall users and everyone,
PLEASE NOTE
REID MEMORIAL CHURCH BUILDINGS ARE NOT CLOSING ON THE 31st OF DECEMBER 2025 AND BEING SOLD.

Reid Memorial church will be uniting with Marchmont St Giles on the first of January 2026 and will become Blackford and Grange Parish Church. There will be no public worship in the Reid Memorial Church building from the first of January 2026.

I am aware that there is a lot of speculation about the Reid Memorial buildings. Although at the time when the Presbytery Mission plan was agreed, the Reid Memorial buildings were to be released (closed/sold), the joint Kirk Sessions are now submitting a request that the Presbytery of Edinburgh and West Lothian, and the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland, review the decision on the Reid Memorial buildings.

Until that review has taken place and the outcome is known, all hall bookings/lets will continue as normal in Reid Memorial.

Please be assured that we will keep you all updated when we are made aware of any changes, you will also be given plenty of time to look for other accommodation if this were to transpire.

With best wishes,

Karen McKay Interim Moderator'
