Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogue

Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogue An egalitarian, inclusive, dynamic and welcoming Masorti (Conservative) community in Edgware

We are a dynamic, inclusive and welcoming Masorti (Conservative) community in North West London. We encourage everyone – men and women, young and old, at all levels of observance and knowledge – to participate on an equal basis, according to their wish and ability. We aim to provide a platform for critical Jewish study, to challenge our minds and enliven our souls. This is what some of our members

have to say about us:

❤ “I hope sincerely that the Kol Nefesh community never for a moment takes for granted how extraordinary a group it is. I feel most fortunate that, in all of human history, in this lifetime I have the opportunity to feel part of it.”

❤ “A unique community where davening and questioning take equal precedence.”

❤ “A truly warm and friendly community where everyone is accepted whatever their level of Jewish practice or knowledge. The services are meaningful and touch parts of us that many services fail to reach. Loads of singing, a thought-provoking Rabbi, and whisky at every kiddush!”

Vote OUR ISRAEL in the World ZIonist Congress Elections
Voter registration is now open! Please go to zionist-federation.uk/registration and register. You’ll need photo ID and a debit card to make a £1 payment.

OUR ISRAEL is the joint Masorti-Reform-Liberal list running in this year's elections the World Zionist Congress, the international parliament of the Jewish people.
We are at a turning point in Jewish history. The voices of Masorti Jews have never been more crucial.

Ultra-orthodox and hard-line nationalist parties are working hard to shape an Israel where our values are not welcome. If they win, they will chip away at democracy, attack religious freedom, defund our communities and shut moderate voices like ours out.

A vote for OUR ISRAEL is a vote for peace, pluralism, LGBT+ rights, gender equality, returning the hostages and strengthening our communities.

These elections are a unique opportunity to make our voice heard. Vote OUR ISRAEL to defend the values of tolerance and democracy, and support Israel to live up to its highest ideals.

The important contributions of Kol Nefesh members Jaclyn Chernett and Cheryl Sklan are mentioned in this article on the history of Masorti Judaism in the UK.

With life happening so fast, we thought now might be a good time to capture the living history of our Masorti Movement in the UK. See https://ow.ly/BtUE50VnemZ to see where we're up to. This is a very brief overview of how different communities from around the UK came together under the umbrella of Masorti Judaism and why. There's a lot not included, particularly the stories of our newer communities. Please write to us on [email protected] with details.
