Made this jazzy retro flyer for my spring promo but realised people also like some sort of accompanying blurb, so here it is:
I have been a student of Reflexology since 1995 when I began working with my sister to alleviate the pain of her polycystic ovaries, using a diagram of the foot reflexes out of a fantastic book called the Alternative Guide to London.
I qualified as Ingham method hand and foot Reflexology practitioner in the year 2000, within a diploma in Holistic Therapies at Northampton college. By this point I had worked on many people at various free parties and club nights around the country in my healing tent as the Holistic Hippy.
I opened a clinic above the health food shop I managed during the day, giving treatments to clients in the evenings, and at the hospital as part of St David's Foundation hospice care for people undergoing cancer treatment and their families. I trained as a specialist holistic cancer support therapist at Bristol Cancer Health Centre, as it was then, now Penny Brohn.
I worked at other festivals, as well as expanding my business into a multidisciplinary holistic centre and shop called Equilibrium.
I then moved to the top of a mountain and worked from home whilst growing vegetables.
I undertook more advanced training as a holistic pregnancy and fertility specialist during this time, as well as incorporating Reiki, hot stones, crystals and Thai foot massage techniques into some of my reflexology sessions.
I opened a clinic in a salon, and worked for Penny Brohn as a specialist clinical reflexology practitioner at the Linford Wood Medical centre. I trained in facial and ear reflexology as well as gaining a distinction in degree level complementary therapies, and a bachelor's of science with honours in Healthcare.
I moved to the Cotswolds and worked as a senior spa therapist and oncology trainer for other therapists as well as becoming a therapy lecturer, internal verifier and assessor at different FE colleges. I gained a masters of research in Health and Wellbeing at the university of Bristol.
I now live near Glastonbury and still offer holistic therapies including reflexology whilst also working on my PhD in gender and violence within the school for policy studies.
Reflexology is helpful for stress and pain, insomnia and digestive issues. It's non-invasive and clinically proven in efficacy for a large number of health issues, known to balance the blood pressure and improve the function of various systems within the body by promoting homeostasis and wellbeing through the massage and acupressure techniques applied during a session. I combine this with natural salt scrub and herbal foot soak in my sessions.
