πŸš¨πŸ”΄β€ΌοΈ STORM EOWYN: Hi everyone, the Met Office have just issued a red warning for the Central Belt. If you’re travelling to or from Dundee, please plan your journey carefully. These warnings are very rare and in instances, are life threatening.

WHAT TO DO

βœ… Check for loose or cracked roof tiles that could easily fly off in strong winds. Also, check aerials and satellite dishes are properly attached.

βœ… Remove loose bricks from around the chimney stack and inside the home, and move furniture from the area directly below. Avoid it until the storm has passed.

βœ… Secure loose objects that could be blown away and cause damage e.g. a trampoline.

βœ… Secure fencing and gates. Ensure they are in good condition.

βœ… Park vehicles in a garage or away from buildings, trees, walls, and fences.

Season of Creation resources from Eco-Congregation Scotland

In the lead up to the 2024 Season of Creation, which runs from 1 September to 4 October (beginning on the Day of Prayer for Creation, and ending on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi) EcoCongregation Scotland have produced a wide range of resources to support churches and individuals in their commitment to environmental stewardship and spiritual reflection on creation care during the season.

These resources are designed for study, action, and prayer, and are freely available for devotional use at the EcoCongregation Scotland website here: https://www.ecocongregationscotland.org/creation-2024/

Resources include texts, videos, hymns, and guides for group discussions that focus on themes related to climate change, conservation, and ecological justice. There is also a suite of sermons written and presented by ecoChaplain, the Rev David Coleman, based on lectionary readings.

EcoCongregation Scotland is a christian environmental charity tackling climate change and conservation, focussing heavily on local participation. There are over 500 eco-congregations in Scotland. For details of how to get involved, please click here: https://www.ecocongregationscotland.org/get-involved/

It was a joyous occasion this evening as we celebrated the installations of Rev’d Professor David Brown as Canon Theologian and Rev’d Dr. Elizabeth Thomson as Honorary Canon. May David and Elizabeth be abundantly blessed in their ministries and be a source of inspiration and grace in all they do.
