"I am priceless". At The Salvation Army we echo these words from a survivor of modern slavery; every life is priceless and beyond value. The true cost behind many a bargain in the UK and Ireland (from cheap food to cheap labour) may well be the exploitation of another human being, through modern slavery.

Join us today, on Anti-Slavery Day, by standing in solidarity with survivors. Your support could help save lives: https://brnw.ch/21wWJcv

Another terrible attack on Ukraine. Drones and missiles heavily damaged residential housing in Kyiv, capital. There are a few casualties, including young children.
We express our sincere condolences to the victims of this violent attack.

“Sorry to see this latest escalation in the war. Our hearts ache for our people. Be assured of our prayers for all involved. Please convey our love and prayers to Officers and Salvationists in Ukraine. We feel helpless but we reach out to God on your behalf.”

Today, many of our churches will be holding collections for the Self-Denial Appeal, an annual invitation to go without something to support the work of the international Salvation Army.

We have officers working in more than 130 countries around the world. One of them is Captain Nathanael Münch in Greenland, who runs a church and café that supports people who are vulnerable, experiencing homelessness or struggling with addiction.

Watch a video featuring Nathanael’s story and give online at salvationist.org.uk/self-denial-2024-transforming-lives-greenland.
