Several stories and videos of how churches and people in the Northern Baptist Association (NBA) are connecting with their communities in imaginative ways were shared on Friday night at the Baptist Assembly.

This is the transcript of the conversation between General Secretary Lynn Green and Linda Donaldson and Johnny Pozzo, regional ministers co-team leaders of the Northern Baptist Association.

And it's a wrap! The teams are home, the kit has been packed away, Baptist Assembly is over for another year.

Over 3 days we prayed, we sung, we talked, we listened. We shared stories of how God is moving in our contexts and how we are joining in (and expressed some of this in postcards placed on a giant map.)

We were challenged and encouraged by our speakers, we learnt in seminars and sponsor zones.

We presented and prayed for all our new ministers, pastors and RLMs, remembered those who have gone before us, and had a focus on equipping the next generation. We inducted our new President Alex and listened to what God has placed on his heart. We shared communion, and then some impromptu words. There was even a little crazy golf.

In both the planned programme and all the unplanned, between and after session chats that are such an integral part of the Baptist Assembly, it's our prayer that you were encouraged and strengthened in your service of Jesus. As one of our speakers said: "It is he — Christ in you, the hope of glory — whom we proclaim."

And next year we get to do it all again! Baptist Assembly 2027 is once more at the fabulous Harrogate Convention Centre (21-23 May 2027), and once more it will have a mission focus.

Prayer at Baptist Assembly 2026 from Phil Jump
As Baptists gather in Harrogate for our annual Assembly, churches and congregations across our Baptist community are being invited to come together in prayer

The call to prayer coincides with the Sunday morning gathering in Harrogate, and churches are invited to pause to pray in their own local services alongside this.
We offer the time of 11.05 am or as close to that as possible.

Staff, volunteers and exhibitors are travelling to Harrogate today, ready for BAPTIST ASSEMBLY - United in Mission: Gathering and Sharing which starts on Friday!
If you haven't been able to get tickets this year, please do pray for everyone participating and for those working over the weekend. It takes a lot of energy and brain capacity to make each Assembly possible!

We would love for you to fill out this postcard with the story of YOUR LOCAL MISSION.
Decorate the front as you see fit. Photo collage, painting, Sharpies word bubble. As long as it represents you and your church. Then, on the back, tell the story! Importantly, we want to hear all stories of mission and this will include those that haven't worked or bore fruit as you'd expected. ALL STORIES speak of God's plan and help us all understand what is happening over the country.
