Amen

O God,
give us words today
to pray for peace
in this world as it is,
where drones fly
and bullets kill,
where children cry
and parents weep,
when leaders speak hate
and turn from unity.

Give us grace,
determination,
and persistence,
to build peace
step by step,
handshake by handshake;
locally, nationally, globally.

We pray, full-hearted
and with all our strength,
for united nations,
days of peace,
shared silence
and a true sense
of the common good.
Let firing cease
and negotiations flourish.
Let unity be the goal
of all the nations
and all the peoples,
for you love us all,
every one.

Amen.

Starting over can feel frightening when grief is behind you and uncertainty is waiting ahead.

Ruth entered a new land without knowing how her story would unfold. She simply continued taking the next faithful step. God met her through ordinary work, unexpected kindness, and relationships she could not yet see.

An unfamiliar beginning does not have to be an empty one. Grace may already be growing in places that still feel strange.
