Dear Devotees,

Please find attached the poster detailing the planned activities of the Colchester Hindu Society for the next three months. Kindly note that individual registration forms and procedures will be shared separately for each activity.

For September and October 2025, we have planned two special initiatives each month to promote and preserve our Hindu culture, with a focus on the month’s unique themes. These activities are designed to teach our young children and actively engage all members of our community.

Considering Diwali is a special Hindu festival celebrated across India—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari—we have planned a full-day event titled Bharatha Vilas Diwali Mela – One Festival Without Borders (a multilingual Diwali celebration). Please stay tuned for further updates and details.

Dear Devotees,

As part of the Colchester Hindu Society’s August 2025 Monthly Satsang FREE EVENT, we are delighted to announce the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) on Saturday, 30th August 2025 from 5 pm to 9 pm.

For this special occasion, we have arranged a 2-foot Ganapathy idol for the community celebration, along with 50 individual clay Ganapathy idols for home poojas. These small idols will be available for advance booking at a minimal cost, on a first-come, first-served basis.

We plan to perform the Ganapathy Visarjan (idol immersion) the following morning, on Sunday, 31st August 2025, at Clacton-on-Sea around 11 am.

Lord Ganapathy, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is revered as the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of wisdom, humility, and prosperity. He is worshipped at the beginning of new ventures, symbolizing clarity, strength, and success. His presence continues to inspire devotion across cultures and traditions.

Colchester Hindu Society is proud to announce our participation in the Colchester Carnival held on 19th July 2025.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for many people to learn about our community services and express interest in joining our upcoming monthly events.

We were honoured to have Pam Cox, Member of Parliament, visit our stall along with the Mayor and several other local dignitaries. It was truly a successful and vibrant day, with many new devotees joining and showing enthusiasm for our community initiatives.

The Srinivasa Thirukalyanam is the celestial wedding of Lord Srinivasa with Sridevi and Bhoo Devi Thayars.
