Colchester Citadel Band were invited to support "Praise in the Garden" at the handsome Georgian house in Little Bentley, Essex. Local Anglican church congregations joined together in the beautiful grounds, described by the Bishop of Chelmsford, Bishop Guli, as like being in a Cathedral without walls, a Cathedral designed by God and not by man. The Band accompanied well known hymns including "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!" and "I the Lord of Sea and Sky". Afterwards the band concluded with an arrangement of John Rutter's "The Lord Bless You and Keep You."

Pentecost Sunday: "Send the fire today!" A great way to celebrate at Colchester was to formally recognise four more members of our congregation as "Adherents." May God bless Mark, Peggy, Brenda and Noel (and their chikdren); surrounded by our Corps Officers, Majors Luis and Filipa Viriato, and Tony, (our Adherents Secretary).

We proclaimed "Jesus is Lord" in our worship yesterday and also celebrated the decisions of Isaac, Karen, and Buki (l to r) to actively consider being made Salvation Army soldiers, thus further exploring God's plan for their lives as part of our congregation here in Colchester. Also in the picture are our ministers, Majors Filipa and Luis Viriato.

What a wonderful Sunday wrapping up Advent season.

This was a particularly busy week, but filled with joy, sharing, building community and serving in the name of Christ.
Around 1300 presents were delivered for children, 300 Christmas meals, a united service with our dear Chinese Church, and finishing off with a great Carol service in Zion.
We were blessed to have the presence of Major Howard Russel, the Divisional Leader for the East of England Division, who brought to us challenging words in a very effective way.

“Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will among men.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬ ‭(TCENT‬‬)
